Everyone has a story worth telling.

I’m FINALLY getting the opportunity to host Beth Moore on the podcast y’all. She’s a dear friend of my family and she’s also been on my “podcast wishlist” f-o-r-e-v-e-r! Beth joined me to chat about her new book, “All My Knotted Up Life: A Memoir”. Beth courageously opens up about the good, the bad, and the ugly details of her life. Her memoir is an authentic and honest description of how, by the grace of God, she was able to come to the point where her decisions are no longer dictated by her pain.

If you don’t already know who she is, Beth Moore is a New York Times bestselling author and speaker whose conferences take her across the globe. In 1994, she founded Living Proof Ministries to encourage women to know and love Jesus through the study of scripture. She has also written numerous books and Bible studies. Through the years, Beth has always shared bits and pieces of her life and has alluded to experiencing some very difficult situations, but she has never fully detailed the specifics of her story.

And who could blame her?

It’s not always easy to share your personal story, especially when it is painful and filled with suffering and guilt.

But no matter how difficult the story is, sometimes it is just THE TIME to share your story. Telling your story requires you to be exposed and vulnerable, but it also has the power to encourage others by reminding them they are not alone, and assuring them that victory is possible. Beth can now see how God weaved the heart-wrenching pain of her past into the beautiful ministry she has today. As the Word assures, “…God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” The hard parts of Beth’s story have allowed her to have a tender heart for women who have tasted the sting of abuse and to come alongside them as they get back on their feet.

If you need to know that God can work in your life despite your difficulties, this interview is gonna bless your socks off.

Sometimes we think that people we see on a platform have it easier than we do, or haven’t had as much pain. That’s simply not true. In fact, some of the most influential people do so out of the power of God at work in their lives despite the challenges they have faced. This is why it’s so important for us to own our stories and to share them as God leads us to do so.

Now, you don’t have to write a memoir like Beth Moore for the whole world to read, but maybe you can try sharing your story in a safe space, such as with a therapist or maybe a close friend.

Your story matters.

It is my hope that as you listen to my conversation with Beth, you will realize that even if your life got knotted up, started wrong, isn’t taking shape the way that you thought it would, or you no longer recognize the person staring back at you, whether it was your bad decisions or someones’ wrongs towards you, Jesus has the power that can be at work in you to untangle it.
