Podcast: Play in new window
These days, there are so many home improvement shows on TV. Some pull in viewers because of their eye for design, and others pull in viewers for their ability to transform a broken-down shell of a house into a breathtaking abode. But one thing is for sure: if you want a house to stand through all four seasons, you have to build it on a solid foundation. You have to build it to last.
The best homes aren’t just built haphazardly. There’s a blueprint. A vision, if you will, that must be intentionally planned out with both ideal conditions and unpredictable weather delays in mind. And if homes must be crafted with this much forethought, then shouldn’t the lives of the people who occupy them be designed to go the distance?
In this episode of the podcast, I teach you how to build a life that can truly hold all that God has for you in this season and to prepare for the next. It’s not enough to pray for more, or even to expand your capacity to attain more; you need support to hold it all together.
Boundaries – Your time, your money, your energy- it’s all precious. You must be mindful of how you give it away. Whether it’s your time (blocking off time for what matters), your energy (noticing what drains you and making room for what restores you), your sleep (putting down your phone and propping up your pillow), social media (stopping the endless scroll), or your downtime (leaning into restful rhythms), it’s all integral in protecting what God is building in and through you.
Understanding your assignment – Some things don’t belong in your life at all. When you get clear about what God is calling you to, you’ll better discern what to carry in this season and what is not yours to manage.
Investing intentionally – What is worth your attention and focus in this season? Pour into what matters so that it will grow.
Living by rhythms, not reaction – Get ahead of the pain points in your life. Create realistic rhythms for your mornings, evenings, and weekends. Have set days for buying groceries, budgeting your finances, and cleaning your home.
Doing the next right thing – Our culture is one of information overload. But it does you no good to constantly retain the right information, only to store it up and never apply it to your life. It’s time to be obedient to the next thing God is calling you to do, no matter how small it may seem.
So I’m asking you: how are you building your life? Are you moving quickly and rushing through your days, or are you protecting your resources, implementing the right rhythms, and pouring into the areas that will support the woman you are now and the one you’re becoming?
If you’re ready to set yourself up so that you can stand the test of time, then this teaching will lay out all the elements you need to build a life that God can bless, all because you trusted Him with what you already have in your hands.
