Podcast: Play in new window
Current culture continues to amaze me. Information is at our fingertips, TikTok is the largest search engine, and many young people are deconstructing and leaving the faith altogether. What can we do to influence others, particularly those in their twenties and thirties to live well? How can we make an impact on the next generation? While I’m a part of Generation X, I believe in the power of Millenials and Gen Z to maximize their season of youth and to understand the value of a life surrendered to God. I’m impressed by the great desire to influence generations coming after me.
Titus 2 calls the older women to teach the younger women, but, in full disclosure, as much as I want to reach those behind me, I don’t always know how. What I do know for sure is that I want to pass on as much wisdom as I can. Sometimes, I find myself frustrated because I wish that the young people in my realm of influence would listen a little more intently so they can avoid unnecessary pitfalls. However, even with that feeling, I still feel a desire and a duty to do what I can to share what I know.
Today, I had the pleasure of interviewing a wonderful young woman who is on fire for Christ. Maddie Rey, an artist, author, preacher, singer, and ministry-maker, joined me in The Sister Circle. Maddie Rey has been in ministry since she was 12 years old. She strives to live a life pleasing to God by rising above the influence of culture and focusing on her kingdom assignment.
Since she was a child, Maddie Rey’s desire has been to see her generation following God. She currently uses her gifts and talents to teach the word of God in her local church and beyond as she has the opportunity to do so. Maddie is laser-focused on reaching her generation and others who are willing to hear God’s truth. During this episode, we discussed her parents’ impact on her life, her testimony of how God has kept her, and how the “older generations” can pour into the new generation.
I’m not gonna lie… I was like… WAIT! Am I in the older generation?
I digress.
Join me as Maddie Rey and I dive into ways we can reach the next generation. This interview was engaging, enlightening, and encouraging. I know you will walk away inspired, informed, and ready to impact future generations!
