Encouragement for Today…

Encouragement for Today…

I’ve had the opportunity in the last few weeks to share my thoughts in a few different places online.

Just in case you missed them, I thought I’d point you in the direction of a little encouragement.

Encouragement #1

Today you can read my first post at Proverbs31.org.  Are you living your life for the approval of others? That’s something I’ve struggled with and I’m being honest about it in today’s post. I’m so excited about the opportunity to join the P31 writing team!  Be sure and leave a comment to let me know what you think!

Here’s a little clip from the post:

P31 Daily Devotions

I grabbed a glass of water and rested my hip on the side of the kitchen counter to watch my birthday boy work. He scrubbed on that dish for more than a minute.

That dish wasn’t just clean, it was sterile, sanitized and thoroughly decontaminated.

Then my sweet boy turned to me, cocked his head slightly to one side, donned a puzzled face and asked, “Aren’t you gonna take a picture of me and put it on Instagram?”…

Another plug for something you may find useful. I’ve got another podcast up!  Kat Lee and I had so much fun on our last podcast on “Balancing Fitness and Motherhood”, we decided to do another one! When you have a moment, check out this discussion on “Core Elements of a Strong Family“.

Kat does such a good job of encouraging mom’s with her blog and podcast @ Inspired to Action.com! It was my honor to join her not once but TWICE.  Listen in and let me know what you think!

Encouragement #3

Need encouragement for the rollercoaster of marriage? I’m talking about the reality that many of us face in our marriages.  The part where there’s a huge dip and your stomach finds it’s way into your throat… yeah that part.  CLICK HERE for Part I.  CLICK HERE for Part II. Here’s a bit of it for you to chew on…

Unknowingly, he sat down next to me on a ride that was supposed to be fun and provide a thrill.  Seconds later, my son realized that part of the ride involved a yucky feeling in his stomach and a spinning motion in his head.

He cried out.

He hollered.

He begged me to get him off the ride.

In those moments, he experienced great uncertainty about his decision to get on the ride in the first place.

Sometimes marriage is just like that…

Encouragement #4

I was very excited to finally see a post from a woman of color as I’m. Not take anything from the ladies of Proverbs 31 ministires which has been a great help and inspiration to me.

I understand. I’m glad to “meet” you.

Chrystal, Welcome to the Proverbs31 family!

Well Done~ Well written! (I know, I know….you weren’t doing this for the approval. LOL)

I’ve been reading the daily encouragements for years and I loved your honesty and writing style….you called out the truth….and it hit the target perfectly…my heart. (That sort of makes you God’s Cupid 🙂

I also look for approval of others and often loose sight of a “pure heart” in search for a “big head” instead.

Constantly fighting the emotions of ego over love takes constant prayer and grace.

I loved your use of the word “convicted”!

No dancing around that one. I am definitely convicted of unpure actions. Everyday I have to ask myself “who am I doing this action for?” And, constantly be on the lookout for Satan’s tricks of distractions and ego digging it’s heals into God’s plans. Some days are small battles, other days seem like all out war.
It’s reassuring to know I’ve got God’s shield to fend off Satan’s poisonous arrows.

    Peace to You, Sandy
