Do you ever reach the end of summer and feel like it just slipped through your fingers? That somehow, even with the slower pace and longer days, the things you meant to get to didn’t quite happen?

I still remember those long summer days from my childhood — the kind that seemed to stretch on forever. Back then, summer meant waking up late, cartoon marathons from sunup to sundown, and running barefoot through the backyard until the streetlights came on. We’d jump into blow-up pools that left our grass squashed and muddy, drink straight from the water hose without a second thought, and take weekly trips to the library that felt like adventures. And let’s be honest — we were always bored. Gloriously, restlessly, beautifully bored. But even in the joy of those lazy days, I couldn’t wait for fall to come. Fall meant new school supplies, seeing my friends again, and getting back into the groove of a rhythm that made life feel full.

These days? Time moves a lot faster. Way faster. I blink and summer’s nearly gone. And instead of looking forward to fall, I sometimes dread the avalanche of activities, deadlines, and expectations that come rushing in with it. What used to feel like a fresh start now feels like a fast sprint — and I often find myself feeling behind before I’ve even begun. That’s why I’ve learned: if I want to start fall with any sense of peace, I have to be intentional about how I finish summer. Because without reflection, reset, and recommitment, I carry clutter from one season into the next — and miss the beauty of what God’s trying to do right now.

If you are feeling as if your summer has gotten away from you, this episode is your friendly reminder — it’s not too late for you to prepare for and launch into the next season well.

Just because summer is winding down doesn’t mean you can’t still reset, refocus, and move forward. In fact, how you choose to use these next few weeks could set the tone for a more peaceful, productive, and purposeful fall.

We often think we need a fresh start to begin again, but God invites us to reflect, reset, and recommit — right where we are. Whether it’s finishing something you started, clearing mental or physical clutter, or simply getting clear on what matters most for the next season, this conversation will help you make the most of the time you still have.

In this episode, I walk through three intentional steps:

  • How to reflect on your summer and celebrate what worked — and what didn’t.
  • Why resetting your space, schedule, and soul creates margin for purpose.
  • How recommitting now will help you enter the next season with clarity and calm.

God’s not finished with your summer — and neither are you. Listen in for encouragement and practical tools to make the most of these final weeks.
