Do you find yourself doing “all the things” for God but spending very little time with God? Are you overwhelmed, overworked, or even burnt out?

You are not alone.

It’s not unusual to desire to glorify God by saying yes to life’s beautiful opportunities. In fact, it’s quite common. Many of us spend our time doing the Christian things that matter. We serve in local congregations, we share our stories in hopes of helping others, we pour into other women and our families. And we say yes when asked to give even more because we desire to love others well. Then we give God all the glory and honor for everything we’ve been able to accomplish without ever realizing He never asked us to do it.

This is where my guest today found herself. Sopha Rush was doing “all the things.” Then life forced her to pause and create space to reflect. It was in those quiet moments where she realized she had sacrificed her relationship with God for her service to God.

Sopha is a wife, mother, author, and founder of Live Deeply Rooted. She believes it is important for women, especially, to get back to the feet and heart of Jesus by recognizing you cannot replace God with beautiful opportunities to serve God. It’s not easy to find your life pace, but Sopha believes when you prioritize God and put him in the middle of everything, you will learn to live life at the speed that makes you feel full and content – and also closer to Jesus.

Join Sopha and I as we dig into how to slow down and begin to live life from the overflow of your relationship with God by:

  • Putting God in the middle of everything
  • Resisting the overwhelm of always performing
  • Learning healthy relationship boundaries

When we focus on what we are doing more than who we are serving, we will burn out. We tell ourselves we are doing it for the kingdom. And we expect God to “keep us going”, “give us strength”, or “fill our cups.” Yet, we often sacrifice our time with Him to make space for all the things we are trying to accomplish for Him, preventing Him from pouring into us.

He is available.

He is waiting.

And He isn’t worried about all we are doing.

He wants to fill our cups to overflowing with His love, grace, and mercy. And then, we can go into the world boldly and confidently, pouring into others from the overflow of what He has poured into us.

This is how we can live in peace with God as our priority and His will at the center of everything we do.
