Has the weight of life’s hard circumstances ever left you feeling paralyzed and lost? Does your pain and grief make it difficult to believe God loves you and cares?

Often times as people of faith, we do not expect to need the skill of resiliency because we anticipate relying on our faith to get us through. We will read Scripture. We will pray and worship, seeking a way out of pain and suffering. We believe that God, in return, will rescue us and make everything better. At least, this is what we tell ourselves.

We assume that our resilient friends –the ones who seem to make it through the suffering just fine without God rescuing them – were simply born that way.

If only this were true!

The truth is God is not required to make our lives comfortable. But He is kind. He is merciful. He is loving. He also has a goal of making us more like Christ, and at times this means we have to experience some things… some hard things.

And what about resiliency? Well, that’s one of the muscles He develops in us to help us make it through. God doesn’t always deliver us from all harm; at times, he delivers us in the harm.

My guest today knows this all too well. Michele Cushatt is no stranger to the reality of unexpected hard circumstances. In fact, she is known for inspiring and challenging others with her personal stories. Michelle knows what it is to deal with trauma, grow her faith and build resiliency. She believes we all have the ability to be resilient; we only need to allow God to develop it in us. This also means changing how we view the hard parts of our life’s journey.

Join Michele and I as we discuss how you can move from seeing struggles as losses to seeing them as opportunities by:

  • Radically changing how you view pain
  • Developing the skill of resilience
  • Shifting your perspective of God’s role

Sometimes you have to acknowledge when life is hard, accept that things may not immediately change, and focus on how you can grow in the midst of it all. False faith will tell you that if God is kind, he will save us from the hurt. Truth tells us it’s in His kindness that He allows us to endure pain.

So consider this. If God is allowing situations in your life that are teaching you to endure, what might He want us to gain?

Here’s the answer.

He wants you to develop…

A Faith that will not Fail.
