Priscilla Shirer is the founder of Going Beyond Ministries, a Bible teacher, author, actress (yes, she finally admitted it), and, most importantly, my only sister. She is my daily phone call before 7 am, a cheerleader, and the most content person I know. Underneath all of that is a woman who has chosen, again and again, to trust God through real and heavy things – losing ten family members in five years, a surgery that required the removal of a lobe of her lung, and the everyday weight of marriage, motherhood, and ministry. She is not cheerful because life has been easy. She is anchored because she has decided to be. Anchored in the character of God and anchored in the belief that whether He answers the prayer the way she hopes or not, He is still good.

In this episode, we talk about what it really means to make a mark – not the shiny, social media version of purpose, but the kind that happens in the dirty dishes, the small Bible study, and the moments when you have to let your kids make their own mistakes, even when you know you could fix it. We dig into why trusting God is a decision before it’s a feeling, why faithfulness in the mundane is actually what prepares you for what’s next, and what it means to protect contentment as a Spirit-given gift before the season changes and you realize what you had. We also talk about margin and learning to see ordinary days as holy ground.

If you’ve ever wondered whether what you’re doing actually matters – whether the quiet, unseen, everyday version of your life is enough – this episode is for you. It’s a call to stop chasing the highlight reel and start trusting that God is building something lasting in the small, faithful moments that no one else sees. It’s a reminder that sometimes the greatest miracle isn’t that God changes your circumstances, but that He sustains you right in the middle of them.
