Podcast: Play in new window
Have you ever wondered what God’s plan and purpose is for your life? My guess is, of course you have! You are wired for purpose, and sometimes it can be hard to spot in your own life, but that doesn’t mean your purpose doesn’t exist. Where have you seen a spark or flame of passion in your life? What is the thing you just can’t stop talking about? Your purpose is closely connected to the place where your passion lies. Your passion is the thing that overflows into everything you do. And this podcast episode exemplifies passion!
I had the privilege of hosting Kathie Lee Gifford on the podcast and hearing her share about some of her newest projects. Recently she has worked on the creation of “The God Who Sees” oratorio, shot in Israel and based on a song she co-wrote with Grammy-nominated Nicole C. Mullen, “The Way”, a collection of 3 more oratorios premiering in one film together, and her book “The God of the Way”. Kathie Lee is well known for her career in television as she has been a co-host on Live with Regis and Kathie Lee and also the Today show. She is also a playwright, screenwriter, producer, singer, songwriter, and actress. Not only was I moved in hearing about her latest project, I was also moved as I listened to her passion for sharing the gospel overflow in our conversation.
Kathie Lee Gifford is passionate – passionate about Jesus Christ and how He has changed her life. And she wants that passion to affect everyone who comes in contact with her and her work. She has taken all of her skill with writing, producing, and creating music to build an experience so that we can encounter the Jesus she’s so intimately come to know.
If you want to know what the overflow of the heart sounds like, you will want to tune in because you are sure to get a clear picture of what the intertwining of purpose and passion looks like. If you are at all impacted by the Gospel discussed in our conversation, take the next step – find out for yourself who God is and who He wants to be for you. As you seek out connection between your passion and God’s plan for your life, don’t forget that you are a part of God’s glorious story. And if you can find yourself in that story, you will find your purpose. God is right there and he hasn’t given up on you!
