Do you struggle with being on time? Do you often feel like time is wasting away? Maybe you find yourself thinking, there simply isn’t enough time in a day. You, my friend, are not alone! The truth is, many of us wrestle with feeling behind or as if we are running out of time. But here’s what you need to know…

It is possible to be a guardian of your time.

I have to admit. More than not, time is not my friend. Despite working really hard to be on time, often I’m still late. It’s not because I do not care about other people’s time or because I do not move fast enough. It’s not that I am unaware of what time it is. It’s not that I haven’t engaged in the race against the clock to make it on time. It simply boils down to the fact that time just seems to get away from me.

If you are like me, you might find yourself not maximizing your time because you think you can pack more into the time you have than what the actual time will allow. Do you ever fall into the trap of tidying up a bit before heading out the door only to find yourself arriving late to your next destination? Do you feel the need to finish up your current conversation but instead allow it to carry on? Or, do you ever decide to make a quick stop on the way to your destination only to find out that it isn’t that quick after all? If you make every possible effort to remain optimistic about time and continue to find yourself in a state of stress, you may need to consider…

What’s stealing your time?

I do not like the feeling that accompanies being late or people having to wait on me. I do not like the thought of life passing me by or wondering if I missed out on the important things in life. Even more, I dislike the repetitive nature of looking back in hindsight wondering where time has gone. And yet, that’s what wasting time feels like to me.

I hear so many people asking themselves the same questions of whether or not they have time left to do what God wants them to do. Or, is it too late for them to do what they are supposed to be doing with their life?

Here’s what I have to say about that.

What is God’s purpose for you TODAY? We often get so caught up in what’s next or trying to juggle many things at once that we lose focus on what needs our attention right now. And often… it’s not that deep. Being a guardian of your time can be simple. It means looking into the eyes of the person with whom you are currently in conversation. Being present enough means taking the time to be kind to the cashier in the grocery store. Using your time well means asking your child about their day and caring enough to be engaged as they tell you their stories – even if they get a little bit long.

Offering yourself to God for His use is the best way to maximize your time. Asking Him how He wants you to spend your time is wise. Tune in to this episode to discover more tips for maximizing your time and letting less of your precious time go to waste.
