When a name is mentioned — Oprah, Beyoncé, Steve Jobs — you don’t just think of a person. You think of their presence, reputation, and the mark they’ve made on the world.

Even in our everyday circles, the same is true. There’s the friend everyone goes to for advice. The coworker known for creative ideas. The sibling who keeps the whole family together. Whether we realize it or not, we all carry a personal brand. It’s the impression people feel when we walk into a room or even when our name pops up in a group chat.

But here’s what I want you to consider: Is the life you’re living aligned with who you truly are? Because before you can make your mark with intention, you must first know the blueprint. You need to know how God wired you, what burdens your heart, what sparks your joy, and what values you’re unwilling to compromise on.

When you live from that place of clarity, everything shifts. Decisions become easier. Boundaries become clearer. Opportunities become more aligned. That’s the power of identity meeting intention.

It’s taken me some time to come into my own and fully own my brand. I’ve been intentional about building my brand as a speaker, author, and founder of The Sister Circle. I want what I share with you to align with God’s Word and draw you closer to Him. Just the same, I’ve been intentional about who I am outside of my public image. I want my close family and friends to be positively impacted by my presence as well.

And I want you to be able to walk in integrity in every area of your life, too.

Gather your data

Over the course of your life, you’ve probably received feedback about your personality, your character, and all the qualities that make you you. If you take a few minutes to write down some of these comments, I’m sure you will begin to see a few recurring themes. If multiple people see you as domineering, or shy, or funny, then you’ve identified a common thread in your personal brand. Use this information to notice any gaps between the woman you are and the woman you’re striving to become.

Embrace your design

Take a close look at your list of attributes and highlight the characteristics that separate you from everyone else. How can you leverage your unique qualities? Remember, you were made on purpose. Ask yourself, “Am I being true to myself or am I trying to copy someone else?”  It’s natural to look around the room and long for the applause that other women receive. But don’t get distracted by that. Just as she’s shining, you can too. Envision the best version of yourself and make the decision to consistently show up as if you are already there.

Live with intention

The way I show up in the world has developed over time. It’s required me to take a hard look at my life and allow God to use all of it. And when I look around me and see women in my family, in my church, and in The Sister Circle, I remember that there are lives connected to my story. The same is true for you. Your personal brand is not just about looking good on social media. It’s about bringing glory to God as you embrace the woman you are and the woman you are growing into.

You see, it’s not about being this perfect person. It’s about showing up authentically in the rooms God places you in.

The time to make your mark is now. When you commit to representing yourself and God well, you will begin to live a life that is on-brand with the woman you were created to be.
