When was the last time you did a checkup on your mind and your soul? Are you feeling overwhelmed by the decisions in front of you, and you’re seeking clarity? This may be the opportunity you’ve been looking for to take notice of your mental and spiritual well-being and reflect on what you already know to be true.

At any given point, we all are asking God or other people for clarity about some aspect of our lives — our jobs, our kids, finances, relationships, and so much more. But here’s the kicker — when we go to others for wise counsel, sometimes we get conflicting advice, just like when the doctor recommends different prescriptions or treatment plans.

If you are getting contradictory information from good sources, there are a few ways you can handle this:

  • Pick a path. Choose a direction. This is the way to move the needle quickly. If you decide you don’t like it, you can course correct and pick a different option.
  • Wait for clarity. It usually takes time for you to know in your “knower” what is the right move. You may want to wait until you feel better about one option than the other or until you have prayed about the decision. Often, it’s in the waiting where you get clarity.
  • Keep up consistency. Do what you already know you are supposed to be doing. Don’t change anything or do anything new. Do what you knew you should be doing in the first place.

The question you need to ask yourself is this: What do you already know you are supposed to do?

Sometimes, the reason why we have a problem is because we stopped doing what we were supposed to be doing. We may think we need to visit another doctor to get another opinion, go on another spiritual retreat, or start another Bible study to find God’s guidance. But we don’t need more information. We already know what the right thing is. Often, what we lack is the discipline, the habit, or the desire to do the right thing. We know what we should do — we just don’t want to do it!

It’s time for you to act on what you already know. Start by making a list of the things you know to be true and right. Then, decide that you will start immediately — no more hesitating — to do the next right thing you should be doing. You have the power to activate your knowledge and determine what that first step is going to be. It won’t be easy, but you can do this! You may feel tired or think, I’ve already tried this, like Peter when he cast his nets once more. But don’t give up! Remind yourself to keep doing the right thing again and again.

Have a spiritual checkup with yourself. Reflect on the problems you’re facing, the decisions weighing you down, and the spots where you feel stuck. How can the list of things you know apply to these areas? How can activating your knowledge help you find solutions to your problems, clarity for your decisions, and ways to get unstuck?

If you want to start building, growing, and owning your life, this podcast is for you! Listen to your wake-up call to do what you have been putting off. No more waiting around. Take on the challenge to activate what you know and do what you already know to do. Here’s to a new season of activation and growth!
