Are you stunting your own growth? Oftentimes, when we are embarking on our passions or opening ourselves to the world around us, a constant obstacle we face inhibiting living out our dreams in our fullest selves is…us. When we stand at the crossroads of staying in the comfort of convention versus risking safety to grow our capacities, what do we do?

In this episode, I talk with Arielle Estoria about her new book, The Unfolding: An Invitation to Come Home to Yourself. We open up our talk about her creative process and her love for poetry. In living a multi-passionate life, Arielle shares that balancing her creative talents used to be a choice, but with modeling, speaking, and theater, writing has always been the way she’s connected with her voice and her creator.

Letting her creativity drive her, Arielle shares that stepping outside of convention was necessary to realize herself in her entirety. It came with struggle – challenging her faith and what she knew to be possible – but ultimately, this struggle was necessary for her to live in the fullness of her success and opportunity.

The struggle was key to success, but for Arielle, this meant having days of self-doubt. Imposter syndrome is something that she deals with on a consistent basis. Challenging that fear and self-doubt for Arielle came with recognizing the extensive work she did to get to where she is.

The times she had to decide whether to have gas in her car or food in her stomach are reminders of how far she has been carried. Those times also help her hold to the faith she has and her belief that she will continue to be protected and provided for.

As we discuss the importance of living authentically and removing doubt as an obstacle, we encourage you to let yourself unfold. The world has so much to offer and reveal to you, but only if you let it. Keeping ourselves constrained by comfort disallows us from living freely in our passion and taking every opportunity as it comes.

It is a disservice to our growth if we boggle down in monotony and expectations. Take that leap and operate in a faith informed by the grace and favor of God!
