Podcast: Play in new window
There is a certain confidence that accompanies knowing yourself and your unique assignment on the earth. The way you show up for your life rings a bit different when you are committed to living on purpose and pursuing God’s best for your life.
Powerhouse and no-holds-bar speaker and sharer of truth Havilah Cunnington joins me on the podcast to share her journey of living flat-footed in the faith and being surrendered to the will and work of God for her life; she also shares how you, too, can live an authentic faith by discovering for yourself how to be who God created you to be and do the work He has given you to do.
Make no mistake, it is not always as easy as it appears to be to walk in light of God’s truth. Much of what we admire in others is often the outworking of many hard lessons God has allowed them to experience. But what you can be sure of, as 2 Peter 1:3 puts it, is “by his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.”
Instead of looking over your shoulder to see what the next person is doing, how they are doing it, and how you can be an extension of the work God has given them to do, seek to discover and embrace your calling. Trust that God is more than capable of cluing you into His plans for your life.
Do you believe He can?
If God doesn’t show you the full picture, if all He gives you are breadcrumbs along the way, will that be enough?
Will you have to experience difficult seasons before purpose begins to take shape?
Maybe.
Will you have to exercise full faith to do the things that don’t make sense?
Possibly.
Will you have to wait longer than you’d like?
Definitely!
But when it comes to living an authentic faith, you must decide that regardless of where God leads. His way is always worth your best effort.
My advice to you is simple, go with what you know.
For starters… you know you.
But even if you don’t… God does.
Do your best to pursue Him and follow where He leads. He knows the intricacies of how he created you. Your quirks and giftedness. The things that set your soul on fire. The measure of truth needed to carry you throughout your days.
No matter where you are and what you know or don’t know, try to relax.
When it is all said and done, believe that God can and will finish the work He started in you.
