Podcast: Play in new window
Have you ever considered what life would be like if, daily, you chose to live from your true worth? To not be side-tracked or distracted by influence, expectations, or overwhelm? To be anchored in God’s love and acceptance of you before you ever do a thing? It can seem difficult, if not at times downright impossible, to not lose sight of who you are amidst the pressure to do more and be more. However, I can assure you, it will always be easier to operate from a place of worth. And not just any worth, but the worth and value that can only be found in relationship Jesus Christ. My friend Cassandra Speer puts it this way, you should “live from a place of worth instead of for your worth”.
Cassandra Speer is one half of an amazing duo that, together, uses their gifts and talents to write and create content encouraging women to know who they are in Christ. Cassandra’s partnership with Brittany Maher stemmed from a desire and passion to help women operate from their worthiness. As a wife, mom, director of Her True Worth and co-author of a book by the same name, Cassandra knows well the importance of operating from a place of settled confidence in being who and how God created her to be.
In a day and age, particularly with social media, where there is an array of messaging surrounding who we are to be and what we are to do with our lives, Her True Worth seeks to ground women in their God-given identity and to both help and champion women as they seek to live from that place. Although, being your own boss, making more money, and paving your own way are not wrong in and of themselves, you might just need to consider the who, what, or why that is fueling your pursuit.
The pressure of bigger, wider, faster and more is real. But that pressure doesn’t mean that living from your worth has to be impossible. It may just require you getting out of your own way (I’m talking to myself now) and allowing the overflow of God’s goodness and the very nature of who He is to permeate your life just enough for you to not forget that the true measure of who you are always begins in relationship with Him.
You are worthy.
So, wherever you find yourself today dismissing, questioning, or being tempted to forget altogether who you are, take a moment to listen to this conversation and be reminded of your worthiness.
