Are you struggling to find a mentor? Are you uncertain if you have what it takes to mentor someone else?

Mentoring is something we all need no matter our stage of life. Even the strongest, most independent woman can benefit from having someone pour into her. There’s an experience, an opportunity, something… there is something someone can teach you. There is something you still need to learn. If you are still living then you are still growing and going. And in this episode, I discuss how to grow well by being a mentee and how to feel confident as a mentor.

Oftentimes, we want individuals to come to us and offer up their time and experience. Sadly, that’s just not how life works. See the reason we are attracted to them as a possible mentor is the very reason why they don’t have time to go shopping for someone to pour into. Mentors don’t come to us. We have to seek them out. We have to do the work of looking at women who are walking well where we want to walk and then be courageous enough to approach them with our request. And, if we are going to ask someone to show up for us, we better be ready to show up for them… and ourselves.

There is a flip side though. As Godly women, we have to learn to say yes when asked. No one likes rejection and if we aren’t careful we could find ourselves discouraging other women from seeking mentorship because we constantly say no. We let our own insecurities and fears of inadequacy keep us from pouring into those who seek wisdom and guidance. We assume we have nothing to offer even though they have already seen something in us they want to learn.

It’s time to stop the madness and live in community as sisters. So, in this episode, I talk about being a mentor and a mentee. Because the truth is… We are all both. We all need both.

We are better together.

It is my hope you will have a deeper understanding of how to establish meaningful mentor relationships. Jesus models pouring into and living boldly and authentically in community with others. He is the great teacher. We are simply called to mimic his example.

So, dear sister, go out and be like Jesus.  Find your twelve. Find your three. And figure out whose three and twelve you are a part of as well.

Go Be a Mentor. Go Get a Mentor.
