Are your insecurities holding you back?

As women we can often seek validation from those around us. And when we don’t receive it, our confidence can suffer. We may begin to doubt our value and our worth. Yet, God desires for us to walk confidently through life without seeking the approval of others.

Amanda A. Pittman and I sat down for a conversation about how to embrace Godly confidence as Christian women. Amanda is the founder of Confident Woman Co and believes every woman should live boldly and confidently in Christ. She grew up in the church, but she did not step into her own confidence easily. It was a journey. Amanda shares her own story of searching for validation and approval from the world and others. She ultimately had a heart to heart with God and found her true identity rooted in a true and authentic relationship with her Creator.  Her hope is for every woman to make the same journey. Amanda firmly believes that if you want to know God is real, all you have to do is pray and read your Bible.

It sounds easy enough, and yet we all know the comparison syndrome is real. Negative self-talk is real. Worrying about how others see us is real. You are not alone in this identity struggle. We all have to walk out our faith at some point. While our journeys may not look the same, we all have to overcome the pressures to value ourselves based on the standards of the world.

Amanda is not only the founder of Confident Woman Co., she is also an author. In her upcoming book, Standing Confident, she discusses the four components of confidence. She identifies them as clarity, connection, competency, and conviction. When we lack one of these, it hinders our ability to live in Godly confidence. Where are you lacking today, my friend? It’s time to take your insecurities to your Creator. It’s time to allow Him to fill the empty places in your life and heart. It’s time to heal, grow and walk in the full identity and power of the One who created you.

I pray this conversation will give you a deeper desire to connect with Christ. My hope is you will find encouragement and hope as you listen to my chat with Amanda. My hope is you will find the key to the door of your confidence. Psalm 141:8 says, “My eyes are fixed are you.” Fix your eyes on Him. Then let Him set you free from your insecurities like only He can.

Your confident self is waiting for you.
