I have found, especially in this last year, that grief can be defined with all types of feelings, emotions, and words. Sometimes grief leaves you feeling like you are drowning, and the circumstances of life only add to the weight of emotions you experience, which leaves you fighting for air. Grief is a lot to carry. I’ve often wondered if the weight of my grief will allow me to receive the refreshment that I believe my faith in God can provide.

The one good thing about grief? We are never alone. Grief is universal. We all have or will experience grief because it is woven into the fabric of the human experience.

I had the delightful opportunity to chat with Angie Smith, the author of “Woven.” We talked about the wonderful content that she’s written, but we also discussed how her faith has helped her navigate the challenges of the various seasons of life.

She and I both agreed that there are moments when we know God is the author of the greatest story ever told (the Bible), but it feels as though our story is not making any sense. The hard stuff that comes is often in big and life-altering moments. Angie was honest and transparent, giving us a “behind the scenes” view of her experience with grief. She is still grieving the loss of her dad, but at the same time, she’s discovered that she found her Father right in the midst of her pain.

Well, if so, this podcast episode is for you. You are not alone. And I believe you will be empowered to face life’s challenges head-on and know it’s okay not to be okay as you go.
