Podcast: Play in new window
Living for legacy is not about you. Of course, by living for legacy and living a life you love, you benefit. But really, it’s about blessing someone else. My mom’s service two weeks ago was over four hours, but every minute was worth it because we wanted to celebrate and honor her well. Most times, both in life and in death, celebrating and honoring someone requires that you unbusy your life and create space for what really matters. What are you making space for? How are you cultivating your talents? Where are you leaving your mark? When this year comes to a close, will the things you spent your time doing matter? Will you wish you put the phone down more, scrolled a little less, and laughed a lot more? What meaningful moments are you ensuring that you and the people around you experience?
If you’ve had to unbusy your life and slow down a bit, as I have, you may be still working to get your feet underneath you as you try to navigate through 2020 as best you can. As you plan, I want you to think about the impact of living a life you love will have on those around you. What is the pace you need to keep? I believe that this year can be your best year yet. It can be the year that you choose to show up and live a life you love, regardless of the circumstances around you. Because it is a choice, you know?
One this episode I hope you are reminded of the importance of choosing well. We get to choose, so let’s be sure to make choices we’ll be glad to live with.

Hi Christal, love to listen to you and us such joy to listen about Legacy…it’s a challenge yet it’s necessary I believe, so I have heard so many stories about your mother, ( I would love to read a Book about your mother’s life) what a godly mother, wife and friend that she was, so inspiring, she lived with a purpose, purpose to glorify God, she was not perfect but lived purposefully… I love your family, thank you Evans family ❤️??
Chrystal, I first discovered you when I heard about She’s Still There. I told a friend, I that book is for me! Because I was in the earlier stages of figuring out what happened to me and how I came to have dissociative personality fragments that I really knew nothing about up until that point. Since then, I have learned more, experienced more, and found more resources that are helping me to find calm and connection, in order to continue healing and moving on towards a complete recovery from a very complex and devastating condition. In this most recent place that I find myself, your thoughts concerning the widow who was out gathering sticks instead of pulling the covers over her head spoke volumes to me. For the past few days, I have been dealing with some disowned elements of my inner child, and as they are coming into the realm of my awareness, I have been feeling zapped of energy. Thankfully, I have the summer between school terms to slow down and dig into this, and keep on gathering the sticks that I need to creep forward. Thank you! I feel like you are my true sister, and hope to be able to thank you in person one of these days. God bless you!
