Podcast: Play in new window
This week we tackle another #lifehack for living — mastering meal time.
I’ve got to eat.
You’ve got to eat.
All God’s chillun’ need to eat.
Food is a fact of life but many face making meals with a little bit of trepidation, frustration, or overwhelm. We are supposed to eat every stinkin’ day three to six times a day. That’s a lot!
So what can we do to make the preparation of our meals a little easier, simpler, faster, and “gooder”. I don’t know anyone who cares nothing about the food that we eat. We may not all like everything or the same things but everyone I know likes something. But in order to nourish our bodies for this life we have to live, we must learn to master the making of these meals first.
On today’s podcast, I’m joined by two long term friends who I’ve admired for their commitment to the kitchen. They both are busy but make time to ensure that they feed their people well. During a free flowing conversation between friends, we come up with a solid ten ways that you can master your own meal time.
And you know what? You and I should master our meal time. We’ve got to eat everyday so we might as well make it easier, make it simpler, and make it “gooder“.
S. Truett Cathy of Chick Fil A is quoted as saying, “Food is essential to life, therefore make it good.” (Click to tweet). Well I agree. So on today’s podcast, I share both principles and practical tips for mastering your meal times so that you can have less stress in the kitchen while keeping good food rolling out of the kitchen as you cook. Cook for yourself? Cook for a spouse? Cook for a houseful of people? No matter. We all have to eat. This show is for you.

You have been so great to join me on the journey here on the blog, I hope you jump right in do the same on the podcast!
I have tried several times and cannot listen to the podcast.
How are you trying to listen?
My greatest challenge has been I don’t know how to cook small portions, even though I was raised in a household of two! Aannnnd I can only eat left overs a few times before tossing it out.
Finally purchased a deep freezer so moving fwd, I’ll plan on only purchasing the basics AFTER I plan some meals.
Got to learn how to use my crockpot; seems like it’ll be my magic wand.
Whew! meal planning seems like a lot of mental work but I can’t keep wasting food so I’ll give it a shot.
Thanks for the tips and links!
I think that meal planning, like anything else, is a workout until you get used to it. And then you can’t imaging life without it 🙂
Wow, this is truly encouraging…thanks.
Awesome information! Thank you!
Thanks for listening!
Thoroughly enjoyed this podcast. Simple and to the point and helpful for singles. Even though I don’t have a family to cook for, it keeps you in the routine and sometimes you just need a place to start!

Listened to the podcast today while I was stuck in Dallas traffic! It was like talking with girlfriends about menu planning. I really enjoyed it. I’ve been married almost 30 years…we all need inspiration from time to time. 🙂
