Podcast: Play in new window
Do you often feel like you’re coming up short? Like, despite your best efforts, there just isn’t enough of you to go around? If this sounds like you, then I’m sure you know that striving for abundance is often met with frustration and emptiness. But when you see what you have as enough, there are no limits to the impact you can make in your life and the lives of others.
In fact, I can trace the seeds in my life, the moments when I felt like I had little in my hands, to promises fulfilled and dreams developed over time. And while I can’t take away the lack you may be feeling right now, I can encourage you to hang on just a little longer so you can begin to experience the abundant life right before you.
Yes, right now, in this season, you have so much more than you think.
That’s why this particular podcast episode was so important for me to share. So many of us are walking around feeling less than. Not enough of the mother, sister, and friend we aspire to be. Not enough of a businesswoman. Not enough of a Bible scholar. Not enough within ourselves to ever amount to anything.
But you have to remember that where you are now is not the end for you. You just have to navigate your seed-planting seasons well. What God is building in you right now is only for the harvest that is to come. Here are a few principles to help you in the seed-planting seasons.
Principle 1: See what you have differently
What if what you have is already enough to make a significant impact? Sure, maybe you’re low on funds, but the love surrounding you from your family and friends may be enough to make you feel like the richest person in the world. Or maybe you wish you had more time to be everything to everyone in your life, but the gift of your presence is enough to make them feel valued and seen. Open your eyes to what you have in your hands right now.
Principle 2: Give what you have now
Don’t wait until everything is perfect or you feel ready to do more. Right now, in this season, you can do the best you can with the time and resources God has already given you. And if you look at another woman’s journey and begin to feel insignificant, remember that you are only called to make the most of your situation. As you let go of expectations that are based on someone else’s life, you’ll be able to appreciate your own that much more.
Principle 3: Just do one thing
As time passes, it’s natural to feel discouraged by what hasn’t gone right. But the truth is, what God has given you is sufficient for today. Acknowledge what is going right, even if you have to dig deep to find it, and focus on doing one thing to move the needle forward.

Thanks so much Chrystal, this message was really encouraging and a great reminder that God can do so much with what feels small in our hands. I appreciated the way you talked about seed-planting seasons, because it helped me remember that growth takes time and that faithfulness in little things really does matter.
