Podcast: Play in new window
We live in a world where if what you have is not “aesthetically pleasing” then you are not worthy. That is a lie from the enemy that we are tricked into believing when navigating all the social media platforms. It can be tempting to live in a space of constantly trying to attain a certain status when all you see are all the pretty & shiny things. Today we discuss how to escape the rat race of trying to look like we have it all together. Our guest today has a gift of decor, organizing, hosting and being “aesthetically pleasing” while also living a life that honors God. She makes it look easy but reminds us that she is intentional about creating a team around her. She uses her genius, paired with the genius of others and God to get all the things done.
If you don’t live under a rock then you know who Jenn Johnson is. She is a mother of 5 who is the author of a book titled All Things Lovely that was released in November of 2021. She is a songwriter and co-founder and recently the new President of Bethel Music. Yes, you heard me right, THE BETHEL MUSIC. In today’s podcast Jenn shares with us her process of writing and how her book was birthed. The love bug bit her at the early age of 12 and by God’s grace she has been married to her young love for over 22 years. She drops a plethora of golden nuggets that I feel are thought provoking and simply a blessing.
Jenn spills the beans on how she handles chaos and releases us to not be afraid to ask for help when needed. We dive into what it looks like to evaluate when she has allowed “things” to distract her and how to use what you have already been given. Instead of asking for more we must be conscious of how we steward the resources we already have access to. Use what you got girl and watch the Lord bless it!
God created us to live in community. It can be hard to find your people but keep trying. We were not created to do this life alone. My hope is that this conversation will not only encourage you to keep chasing the lovely life you want to live but to also remind you of the goodness that comes when you make time and space to connect what you have with God and those around you. It’s a beautiful thing.
