Haven’t joined the journey yet? Come on! Be sure and post a comment to THIS POST.
Last Wednesday, our “R&R” assignment was to read chapters 9 through 12 of Kingdom Woman. These chapters deal with the spheres in which we can influence our world as we become the Kingdom Woman that God wants us to be. All of our worlds are different.
Some of us are married. Some of us are single. Some of us are single again. There are those of us that are mothers, those of us who have careers outside of the home, and those of us who are highly engaged at our churches. Some of us are lonely, and not feeling as if we have much influence anywhere because the only person in our world is “us”. No matter where you are and what your life looks like today, you can have influence.
Sometimes our the results of our efforts are evident. Sometimes in a matter of hours, days, or weeks, you can see that your hard work prayer, perseverance, or faithfulness have paid of. Sometimes, you have to believe in faith that as you live your life as unto the Lord, that your efforts matter. Some of us are only supposed to plant seeds that God will water with the efforts or prayers of others and result in full grown trees that you will never see. Others of us are supposed to hang in their for a looooong time as we wait for the day that God will allow us to witness the fruits of our labors.
So…hang in there with that difficult marriage. Keep loving those kids that are getting on your last nerve! Continue to be faithful to be a witness for Christ on your job. Don’t stop praying for and loving on that person for whom you are trusting God for their salvation. Keep serving faithfully in your church or in that ministry that you sense God has called you to. Stay involved in your community and shine as a light for Jesus even if you are ridiculed for doing so.
If you haven’t been the influence that you sense you ought to be. It’s not too late. Start today.
While I will give you a few Monday missions to choose from, don’t feel pressure! Pick one or two if you are ambitious. But only select a mission if it blesses you… not if it stresses you!
What exactly is Monday’s Mission?
Every Monday during our #KingdomWoman “One Month Journey”, I will give you an assignment. It’s great to read a book but what’s even better? Seeing change in your life because a book’s message taking root in your life. Your Monday’s Mission will be an opportunity for any woman who is reading Kingdom Woman to get ideas for applying Kingdom Woman. I don’t know about you but I want to activate change in my life!
~ Your “Mission” for Today ~
Choose from any of the following missions as a way to put “feet” to your faith!
Then be sure to post in the comments to tell me about YOUR mission!
Good in the way of the great. – In Chapter 9 we read, “show me your calendar, and I will show you your priorities.” What is one thing that you have been busy doing that you will make a plan to STOP DOING (or at least change the frequency or amount of your involvement). It’s time to put feet to the pavement ladies. What regular ongoing commitment or activity is good but that is keeping you from doing God’s BEST!
Be a positive influence – I don’t care where you are in your relationships with members of your family (husband, children, mothers, sisters, etc.). Make it a point to encourage at least one of them today. Have a positive influence on an individual in your familial sphere of influence by telling them what you love about them, sharing your appreciation with them, or sending them a message that they are valued by you and by God.
Get in alignment! – Alignment is the idea that you are operating within God’s prescribed order and fulfilling the role he has given you to the best of your ability. If you are single, that might mean doing your job in excellence (not wasting time!) or serving under authority in your church without a rebellious attitude or a spirit of resistance or even gossip or slander with regard to the people you work or serve with. If you are married, then being in alignment can also include operating in the freedom of a submissive spirit with your husband.
If the whole idea of alignment or submissiveness is convicting for you, think of one area where you could do better and exercise that muscle today. If you are argumentative in your marriage, practice holding your tongue. If you are typically not up to par with your discipline and focus at work, try your best to have one highly focused and hard working day! If you have the habit of talking about people in authority over you because you disagree with their ways of operating or structural direction… just don’t do it! Honor the authority that God has placed in your life. He will be pleased with your efforts even in the midst of a difficult situation.

Alignment – This is an area that I have struggled in for quite a number of years. It was back in June that I first saw the book “Kingdom Man” and on Focus on the Family I was able to get some downloads relating to Biblical Manhood and Womanhood. There were a couple of the downloads that Tony Evans was talking on – I just love to hear him preach – he says it like it is but with such grace. My husband and I were on a trip and I decided to bring those along on my MPS player and plug it into the truck – and listen (it would be good for my husband to hear!!!) I started praying back in June that God would change me – open up my heart to what His Word had to tell me about submissions and roles. I got the book “Kingdom Man” for my husband for Father’s Day and I ordered both books even though the Kingdom Woman had not come out yet.
As I mentioned in earlier comments, I have been interested in biblical womenhood for about 5 years or more and have been reading things related to this. So when I saw the new books on Kingdom Man and Kingdom Woman – I was definitely drawn to the subject.
I praise God for bringing this book “Kingdom Woman” into my heart and allowing me to hear these words of wisdom and read along with the Word of God. My heart is softening to these words. I think it is because of how well both these books were written.
I was quite fearful of trying to mentor younger women on this subject – but God has opened up my heart enough to “try it – you will like it” attitude about what being a Kingdom Woman is about.
I am allowing the Holy Spirit to convict me and I am learning to be silent when I need to be. Before reading this book – God placed Exodus 14:14 on my heart – “”The LORD will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” Is that not awesome how God speaks. I am learning to not resist what God is teaching me in this area – I am realizing the importance of God’s organization plan for our lives. I am fulfilling my role that God has designed just for me – I don’t worry about what others say or think – I am doing what God is calling me to do – I can’t take someone some place that I haven’t been. So now I can add this to my role as a mentor to yournger women. It’s not painful. What is painful is not aligning myself to my role that God has given me as a Kingdom Woman.
Words that I speak to myself this Monday Morning – “You go girl!”
Awesome Jan! Love your “You go girl!” and… “What is painful is not aligning myself to my role that God has given me as a Kingdom Woman.” Great perspective!
The Lord has been so faithful to me in showing me in the past year those things that are good and in the way of His purposes. As I made the necessary adjustments, I’m finding greater freedom to fulfill His plans. There is one thing I need to do that would put me right where I believe He wants me in this season of my life. So I am entering a writing contest this fall for the first time…ever! This means I have to perhaps read less at night or on the weekends and write instead. I’m excited about the submission because it’s a great short story. (Imagination is a wonderful gift from our Father God – He’s amazing!!) My confidence level will go up once I do it and the Lord will be pleased (smiles).
That is wonderfl Katheryne. I will be praying for you as you make time to complete this writing.
Thanks so much Jan!! I appreciate your doing so. You are an encouragement to me through your posts (even when I don’t “mention” it). 🙂
Blessings to you as you move forward in using the gift God has given you!
Thank you Chrystal
Best wishes on your writing. i will start following your blog. Go Ms. Katherine.
Alignment! — I need to keep my focus and align myself with the word of God. I struggle with staying connected. More discipline.. And the working hard at work. It’s a struggle but I know once I fully commit God will put me on another assignment. I know I have to be faithful wherever He has me to fulfill my purpose for Him.
Being faithful “on the job”. It’s a lesson I keep learning and a test I have failed more than I care to mention!!! Be encouraged! You are not by yourself. You can do it.
Easier said than done but I’m learning that I can’t move to the next chapter before completing my current chapter.. I’m tired of being in the same place and going to do all I can for God to reposition me and remaining faithful where I am in the meantime.
My husband just bought this book for me and this is my first time on your blog. I am only on Chapter 4 of the book and this is all NEW to me. I picked Be a positive influence even though I am not good at it (Have Anger issues). I do have to say I told both my girls today they did really good with school today (I homeschool) and I made them a treat as well to show them.
It’s nice to meet you Heidi! Thanks for stopping by the blog! I pray that you continue to be blessed by the book! Good for you for following through on the mission!
Hello Everyone:
I am working hard to fulfill the purposes of my life. Thus I am getting aligned with God’s plans for me. I am so happy that I growing and moving forward. This has been the best season for me. so I am praying that I get even more conformation from God to keep me focused. I love this one month journey!!!
My Monday Mission is Good in the way of great. On Monday, I began shutting down my access and notifications for my social media sites (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram). Today is the first day of my commitment to take a break from social media for at least one week so that I can reorganize my priorities, refocus, and regain an atmosphere of balance in my respective roles. So far so good!
