A Few Thoughts on Value, Hope, & Excellence!
~ Today’s “R&R” ~
Reflection Assignment
Every week you will have an opportunity to reflect on the previous week’s reading.
Last week we read the introduction! Don’t feel pressure to answer all of the questions.
- Fun question – “Those four inch red-bottom heels don’t look easy to walk around in…” Maybe you don’t wear wear red-bottom stillettos but all God’s chil’run got shoes! What kind of shoes are your favorite to wear? Where do you shop for shoes?
- In ten words or less, what do you think is the purpose or one of the purposes that God has for your life. All of us have a purpose in serving Him and obeying Him. But I mean as you serve and obey Him, practically speaking, what kinds of actions does god want you to take? Here are a few ideas to get your juices flowing: give of my time to help others, mentor younger women, teach young children in Sunday school, be a good wife to my husband, support people or ministries financially, represent God on my job to others, serve the body of Christ through worship, pray for others, etc,
- “You are signficant. You are valuable. You are worth more than jewels.” Name one thing that you can do for yourself that will help you feel this way. Remember, it doesn’t have to be extravagant or expensive. K.I.S.S. (Keep it simple sister!
- You are to do all you can do to ensure that others treat you with dignity.” How can you ensure that others treat you with dignity? Name one thing that others could do that would make you feel valued. While we don’t want to depend on others for our sense of value, sometimes people don’t know how to treat us and we need to let them know.
- Finish this sentence… “I frustrated the devil this past week when I…”
- Feel free to comment on the video devotional regarding anything that resonated with you.

Clarissa, Fort Worth, Texas, Pink/Purple
1. I like wedges and sneakers and I shop any where there is a good sale.
2. My purpose: To tell those who may not know about Him enough to make them curious enough to find out.
3. I will have to skip this b/c I am so busy doing for everyone else that I do absolutely nothing for myself (something I’m working on changing)
4.People can make me feel valued if they stop calling me only when they want something from me. It’d be nice to get a call to just say hi and see how I am doing.
5. I frustrated the devil this week when I woke up every morning and dropped to my knees to praise God 🙂
Leah, Flin Flon Manitoba Canada, Turquoise Answer #1 Chaco or Keen. Usually online or when I get out of our small northern remote town.
#2 My general purpose is a good wife and mother… But I struggle with ”
having a purpose-filled life” quite a bit because I feel I should have another purpose.
#3 Time in the Word, Rest and Exercise will help me feel this way!
#4 Appreciation (recognition/thank you) always makes me feel valued
#5 I frustrated the devil this week when I prayed with my 3 year old.
#6 Resonated with me from your video intro to this week: What is getting in your way of doing well/woman of excellence?
Leah, first I LOVE your name…its my middle name! 😉 But I just wanted to encourage you in your answer to number 2. I have been in your place before…just kinda feel like is this alllllll to life Lord? Cook, clean, the bus run, or preschool run, then cook again, clean again, baths, bedtime…and back up again. I felt really useless…like I wasn’t making a change in the world until God revealed to me that I am raising the “world’!!!! Your kids are the future christian leaders of this world! So with that revelation, every morning I would get up get the kids breakfast, pray with them do a devotion and send them on their way. It may not seem like much but when I missed a day because we were late…they would come home, remind me, and ask if we could do it before homework or at dinner! That’s when I began to feel that I was dong something important….something commissioned by God! So be encouraged! God is using you to raise up his leaders. Pray and ask him for any specifics about your children that you should work on or pray for!!!! Hope this helps!
Amen! I am sure those words will be a great encouragemen to many.
Thank you so much Jessica. What a good perspective. Pray for energy to do just that! I am dealing with pain (long story) and some days it’s all I can to take care of their physical needs let alone realize and act on the fact that these little ones of ours are the future Kingdom leaders! I asked my 3 year old to pray for my healing the other day and she prayed “God please heal mommy so she can carry me up the stairs” 🙂 so sweet I cried. Would love to get to the place where I can do devos in the morning with her. It would be over the littlest’s head yet (1 year). Any suggestions of where to start with devotions for a 3 year old?
Awww wow! I will definitely add you to my prayer list! I know that it’s hard to care for the little one’s while in pain! God Bless you! As far as devo’s for little ones…I would recommend just getting one of those Children’s Bible’s and reading a story and explaining it to them on their level. I use my youversion app on my phone. It has devotions for kids and teens as well as adults. You might wanna check that out to see if they have some that your daughter can relate to. I am going to pray for God’s healing in your body! He is able! I know what it’s like to be sick and still have to function. I was pregnant this time last year and had hyperemesis. Which is a fancy name for ALL DAY “morning” sickness. I empathize with you! Here’s a big ((HUG)) from me! 😉 Your doing a great job, mom!!!!
Jessica, I couldn’t have said it better!!! I struggle with my reduced capacity since getting married and having children. Then it hit me that my children are the primary focus of this season. Once they are older, I can return to the Drama Ministry and the bake sales and cooking classes.
Chrystal, Dallas, Texas, Green
1) I hate shopping so I wear shoes I find while shopping for other things (Target has a great shoe section). I like any shoe thats comfortable!
2) One of my purposes is to encourage other women 🙂
3) Burn a candle. Nice smells make me happy.
4) I can make the effort to dress with class. I prefer to wear T-shirts and yoga pants. A little bit of effort when I go out can go a long way.
5) I frustrated the devil this past week when I refused to go down the slippery food slope. I had a couple of bad days which normally turn in to weeks up on weeks of bad days. I decided to get up, dust off, and stay on my journey to good health.
6) Just realized that I was talking REALLY fast in the video. I hope it was OK ya’ll!
Tonya, Washington, DC, Pink
Answer:
#1 – 3-4 inch heels. Have been rocking a lot of wedges this summer. i am a bargain hunter so I will go where ever there is a sale but I also buy online.
#2 – I believe that God’s purpose is to minister to women. I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and through it I learned how to trust God more. I believe God is using me to show this to other women so that when they go through things they will know that His will is what’s best and that He will never leave or forsake them.
#3 – Take a hot bubble bath and/or get a massage.
#4 – I first need to realize my value. I need to carry myself always the image of God. I feel valued when I receive a random text message that simply says, “I was thinking about you…” The fact that the time was taken to send the text means a lot to me. That means that at that moment, something about me popped up in their spirit and they took the time to let me know.
#5 – I frustrated the devil this past when I refused to mistreat someone who hurt me. They have no idea I know.
#6 – Excellence – Have hope that you can make it. Thank you for that. The word “excellence” is something that I try to put into practice when doing certain things because I want to do things with a spirit of excellence and because I am anal. Being a women of excellence seems like a tall order. One taller than those 4 inch red-bottoms but I thank you for reminding me through scripture that this is a process and I need to have the hope that I can make it!
Tonya, your answers to numbers 2,4 and 5 really just shifted my spirit. Thank you for sharing.
Praise God!
I love your answer to #5! That shows strength! It is the character of Jesus! You rock, sis! 😉
Bless you girl!! The reality is when you have been through and have seen the hand of God work through it, you don’t have time to be distracted (because it is a distraction) by mess! Treating them as they treated you verses treating them as you want to be treated (lovingly) are two different things. They know they did it and you know they did it even if you never approach them about it. Give it to God! He will make your enemy your footstool!
Also, I love the refrain to the hymn Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus…
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
When you focus on God, His goodness and desire to move forward, everything else dims by comparison.
Tonya
Let me just start off by saying you are super awesome 🙂 I admire your courage & strength .I sm currently reading “the purpose driven life by Rick Warren & he talks about how God sends of through tough things to deepen our Faith and build our character and you are a living example of this.. We serve an awesome excellent living God & i know you will beat this as well as use it as an avenue to expand his kingdom..You ROCK ! Stay encouraged & strong
Brittany!!! You just blessed my socks off!! How could a person not be encouraged with all these positive Godly women surrounding them. I am so blessed!! Thank you gurl!!! It is funny how things happen and how you handle them when they happy. It reminds me of the tea bag saying about not knowing what you’re made of until you’re in hot water. Faith is an action word. It requires us to step out of nothing while trusting God for everything or if I can steal from Dr. Evans, “Faith is acting like God is telling the truth”. I encourage everyone that I meet to Just Be Clay. That is my twitter name, my email address, my signature line on text messages, JUST BE CLAY. God knows what He is doing and His will is what’s best. I love you with the love of the Lord. Continue to be a blessing! Muah!!! ♥
Jennifrer, Texas, Can’t pick favorites, I like them all.
1. I like flip flops. They are horrible for my feet but I like them. I also like my Ugg tennis shoes my husband got me.
2. I feel that my purpose is to serve my family, love others that come to our house and help anyone that I can.
3. one thing I could do is to do some freezer meals. The once a month cooking kind. It won’t pamper me now but it sure will later. I would like to carve out time and money to do this.
4. I feel most valued when people speak words of encouragemnt, no sarcastic joking or put downs. That gets so old. I don’t need a lot of compliments but just a positive atmosphere.
5. I frusterated the devil this week when I devoted so much of my time to God’s word or books on spiritual growth. I also have been speaking postive words out loud and believing them too.
6. The video was great! I will read Hebrew 11, it is great to read about how God helped others, I know He is the same God and still helps people today. Also, Psalm 121 is a great reminder for me to meditate on for a day like I am having today, My help comes from The Lord. . And set apart and saved means we are a Kingdom Woman. We were bought with a price, we are all on a journey. And what is God asking me to do and what is getting in the way. Something to think about. When you say yes to something you say no to something else ( regarding our time) Great
Renee, Hilliard, OH, red
1. I like sandals, I shop at J.C.Penny’s
2. To be a blessing financially to people
3. I have a personal goal to lose 50 lb by age 50 April 2014
4. To walk worthy of the Father.
5. I frustrated the devil this past by having the victory by not buying those potato chips and diet Pepsi.
6.I like the sound wisdom answers to the questions asked.
I have read Psalm 139 in different translations and each time I got a revelations from it. Perfect match to your video today Crystal.and to knowing that God shaped me first inside, then out who am I to question God’s creation! Not me
Jeanna, Baltimore, Maryland, Blue/Silver
1. My favorite shoes are my Zigi Soho. Not the styles with the platform soles. I will purchase my shoes from anywhere that has a great bargain.
2. I am still awaiting for Christ to reveal my God given purpose. In the mean time, I do believe that He wants me to represent Him right here in the earth realm in all aspects of my life.
3. What I can do for myself to make me feel more valuable, would be to listen to my mother and take care of ME, whether it be getting my hair done, getting a manicure, buying a simple shirt. I tend to always put me last and never have enough left to do what I want.
4. Simply ASK ME do I have any prayer requests. And when they pray for me to tell me that my name was lifted to the father. Keeping it to yourself but not telling me does nothing for me. I dont need to know what was prayed just whispering my name, makes me grateful. To often in society and ecspecially on social media do we give the cliche responses of: “prayers going up”; and “when prayers go up blessings come down”; etc. and never take the time to pray. Saying those phrases is not the prayer, the action of actually doing it is. Thats why I thought it was brilliant and had to take part in the prayer that we did last week, where every body prayed for everybody so no one was left uncovered.
5. I frustrated the devil this past week, when I began my Fast on Monday to have Christ release me from bondage of sins. God is setting me FREE and incarcerating the Satan!!
Dionne, West Chester, Pennsylvania, PINK!!!
1. I like wedges and flip flops. I shop according to where the sale is.
2. My purpose: to be a good disciple, wife and mom
3. Currently, I am lovingly attending to my natural hair on a daily basis. I am striving to wear it proudly – it is what HE gave me…
4. People can make me feel valued if they would simply say “thank you” when something gets done on their behalf. It may seem easy for me, but appreciation is still to receive from time to time.
5. If frustrated the devil this week when I chose to remain committed and faithful in ministry service when ALL others around decided to pick when they would participate.
6. The part of the devotional video that resonated with me: the illustration concerning the gymnasts. It reminded me of Paul’s struggle to beat his body into submission. We are in training to be Kingdom Women and must be committed to doing whatever it takes to be all that God has called us to be. Thanks for the encouragement.
That is a beautiful comment: We are in training to be Kingdom Women and must be committed to doing whatever it takes to be all that God has called us to be. Thanks for the encouragement.
We are in training and we need to remember that God is not through working on me.
Amen Jan… Praise God!!
Hi Dionne, the gymnast illustration was my favorite of the video too. Especially the part where Chrystal explained that the gymnasts do not take much time off in order to be excellent. I was trying to think of a good way to express my purpose and I noticed how simply you listed yours as roles in #2. That’s a good approach. I will approach it that way too.
Jessica, Jacksonville, Fl., PURPLE,
1. I love wedges because they are not quite a heel or a flat! 😉 I buy shoes from wherever…I’m not picky…as long as they are cute!
2. Helping young girls live the spirit life and have fun.
3. Getting a pedicure…I haven’t had one in forever!!!
4. Just acknowledge that you appreciate me! My time, efforts, love, care, or whatever!
5. I frustrated the devil this week when I refused to give into the temptation to gossip!
6. I loved the whole video…but the thing that stuck out to me is the value portion…I think that sometimes I don’t value myself enough, which therefore makes me feel like, why would God use me to do this when…such and so is so much better at it? I think that I am suppose to be perfect at certain things. When that is not the case. God is my coach…and he see’s the value in me… the potential! WOW! That hit home!
Shyreka Sturdivant, Grand Blanc, MI, Yellow!
1. Shy loves her Stilettos and first store is Nine West Outlets; Buy one and get the second pair 1/2 off!!!
2. To help women see themselves as God sees them!
3. Having my early morning quiet time with God. Every time I study the Bible, I see his unconditional love for me and my confidence springs forth with humility and boldness. I love it!
4. Acknowledge my presence; not look over me.
5. I frustrated the devil this past week when I sat at my Father’s feet and exercised for four days straight! Both are HUGE accomplishments for this girl right here – lol!
6. If I’m truly going to be a Kingdom Woman, then in this particular season I must be focused, have hope, remember that I am valued and rely on God to help me live an excellent life. Great video!
You go Girl!! I love how you are growing as a Kingdom Woman.
I love the way that I see so many women stepping up and saying I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Cynda, Westminster, CO, Purple 🙂
1. Since moving to CO I have found I really enjoy wearing boots! I have multiple pairs now 🙂

Jan, Medina, ND, BLUE
1. Let me tell you I LOVE SHOES! I love a bargain and buy alot of my shoes from Target – great shoes and great price. (Don’t buy “red bottom” shoes outside our family budget – but thought that I could spray paint the bottom of mine – just kidding)
2. My purpose in life as an older woman is to encourage younger women. To have GRACE for them to grow in the way God has planned for their lives.
3. I love taking a bath with music and candles and I try to once a month get a massage – it works wonders on me – I praise the Lord during these times too.
4. I have stepped up and startinng living within the biblical and spiritual boundaries that God has set for me – It was hard at first but it is getting easier for me (especialy as a late in life pastor’s wife) to stay focused upon my priorities. I do believe that people are beginning to respect me for making these stands in my life.
5. I frustrated the devil this week when I had several within my boundary “things” and I took my husband’s advise on what I should do. This happened monday and it has made for a pleasant week within our household – because I didn’t over do. (Thanks Tony Evans for your encouragement for me as a Kingdom Woman in training)
6. Chrystal – I love all the places that you find to do your videos – I laugh out loud at your creativity. I can’t wait to share with the young women that I mentor where you where this time!!! I love what you shared and it spoke out boldly to me that I am right where God wants me to be and I can be brave in walking within his purposes for me. Value, Hope, Excellence
What an awesome encourager you are Jan! I pray that the younger women of your church would honor and seek the wisdom you exude.
God’s blessings as we grown into mighty Kingdom Women!
Shyreka, you are welcome – I love to enourage – We need to encourage one another and always remember to give thanks to God.
I am blessed to be a part of this!
Mrs. Jan…I have never physically met you but I love your spirit!!! You are definitely were put here for encouragement! Your #2 is so needed! We need older women with common sense and kingdom sense to help us as we travel on this road to becoming kingdom women!!! God bless you and your ministry!!! I love hugs so here is a big old hug from me! ((HUG))
Jessica – thank you for the HUG – I love to get them. Thank you for encouraging me to continue to do what God is calling me to do.
All you girls out there encourage me – thanks for being real!
Linda, Carrollton, TX, blue
1. Sneakers and sometimes slip on sandals.. Only because that is all my feet will allow me to wear. When I do shop it is definitely on sale.
2. God has definitely called me to encourage and pray for others.
3. Go to Sensory Reflexology and enjoy 70 minutes of relaxation.
4. Common courtesy and respect. Thank you and excuse me can go a long way.
5. I frustrated the devil this past week when I gave God all the glory and praise daily for believing God was keeping my son safe and believing he was fed, clothed, heart and mind guarded, and his soul in line with the Holy Spirit, doubt and fear removed and surrounded by those that would show him love and lead him to call us. He was missing for 3 months and yesterday was found safe. God had him in the arms of a loving Christian organization that kept him safe, fed, clothed, encouraged, and loved on him and prayed with him. God is Good!
6. The gymnast live a life of excellence of focus. We also need to do what God has put in front of us and focus. Asking what is it God is asking me to do and do it well right now. What is getting in the way of me doing that well? I am putting these questions on my sticky notes around my computer screen to ask myself this daily so that I do not allow distractions to sneak in and take away from what God has for me.
Mrs. Linda your story is amazing! I am believing God for some major things right now, that others may call me crazy for but your story encourages me to keep believing and keep praying! I am happy that your son is safe!!!! God bless!!!!
Linda, I join with you in praising God for keeping your son safe during these past months. I know that must have been difficult for you. Praise God that you can share that story with us.
Kimberly, Montgomery, AL Tiffany Blue
1. My favorite shoes are high heels however since I had my children; me and the heels don’t agree. So my meantime favorites are my flats.
2. God has shown me that I am here to help/serve others. So I am here to give my time to others.
3. Carving a little time for myself. Busy single mom of 2. Time gets away fast.
4. I always had hoped that people would stop assuming how I will react or act and just allow me to to make my own decisions about certain things and stop hiding things from me.
5. I frustrated the devil this past week when I began to worship, honor, and praise God more!!
6. Love the video!! I am happy that this is a journey not an over night sensation. I believe we all learn better when we take things slowly. Smell the flowers because they are ours. If we must seek to find our value then enjoy the journey, I believe we will all be amazed on what we find. Happy Hump Day.
Hey Kim~
You are right down I-65 S from me. I love my heels too! However, I didn’t let kids deter me from wearing mine. I am getting used to the flats since I broke my leg. I think my heels were my confidence booster since I have short woman syndrome, they made me “appear” to be tall like everyone else.
Hey Ms. Kelly-
I do wish I could wear them for a long while before my first child. But somehow it is not happening for long. But I am going to start back wearing them more often even if it is only for 5 minutes. They gave me a different type of swagger that has been hard to recapture. Yes I am located here in Montgomery. I believe your ministry would be awesome. If you need some help let me know. The kids and I love a road trip. 🙂
Kelly, Birmingham, AL my favorite color in brown
#1~I love shoes-high, high, high heel shoes. I love my heels to be at least 6 inches. BUT, on October 21, 2012 I broke two bones in my left leg and have been reduced to wedges and tennis shoes. I’ve become a fan of Crocs flip flops, the cute Easy Spirit and Dr. Scholl’s~notice I said cute, they have to be cute or I’m leaving them in the store.
#2~God’s purpose for me is to a) run my own business b) serve women by starting a non-profit inner city women’s ministry. We hear about ministry going forth in the city, but do we see women being healed, comforted, getting the Word, and working in the Word. Maybe in other communities, but not so much in my community. I would love to see a city-wide women’s ministry focused strictly on women in the Word.
#3~Hire a residential cleaning service to clean and organize my home office.
Hey!!! Your purpose is needed!!! I pray that God equips you with the money, people, time, and grace that you need to get started!!!!
Raquel, Irving, TX, Cerulean Blue
1. I love Chuck Taylor All Stars. I usually find cute ones on clearance at DSW and I’m looking forward to the day I have some extra cash to custom design my own pair at converse.com.
2. Help the broken and hurting find true freedom in Christ
3. Take care of my body by nourishing it well and exercising to gain physical strength and endurance.
4. I am getting better at this but still working on saying no and having healthy boundaries with both my clients and family. When I stand up for myself and value my time and contributions others will begin to respect and value them as well.
5. I frustrated the devil this past week when I chose love and forgiveness over anger and dwelling on my brother’s past mistakes and continual patterns.
6. The discipline and commitment of the gymnasts because they have recognized something in them and want to work towards greatness in that!
1.) My favorite shoes… during the summer would be FLIP FLOPS! I always seem to be on the go and those are the easiest and I always seem to have access seeing as how I leave a pair at almost every door to the house! (haha) —- I like Cato’s to shop and I usually wear HEELS — few flats and during the winter I’m a snow boot or to the knee heeled boot! I rarely shop so it seems as if I’m a season or 2 behind..lol
2.) Business owner, teach my daughters how to become women, be a PLEASANT wife, full time ministry
3.) Stop being so critical of my looks, accept myself as beautiful just as God sees me.
4.) Appreciate my efforts. Stop analyzing all the wrong I do and focus on the things I did right or attempted to do out of love.
5.) I frustrated the devil this past week when I….. over looked my husband continuously making remarks about what I needed to do or how I didn’t do something the way he thought it needed to be done. (Example: He mentioned there were crumbs still on the stove while I was folding laundry: EVERYTHING inside of me wanted to tell him to CLEAN IT UP!!!!!!!!! but instead I waited until I had finished… bit my tongue the entire time and cleaned up the entire kitchen to let go of some steam. I wasn’t sure if he was kidding or not but here lately it’s been an ongoing pattern.)
Stephanie, I think our husbands are brothers that were separated at birth!!! I will admit that I am not always strong enough to hold my tongue or not display my natural reaction. And like you I will attack the aforementioned area with a vengeance trying to burn off my attitude. Once I realized that my behavior made him think that his approach was an effective way to communicate with me, I stopped. My response became, “Are you asking me if I’m done cleaning the kitchen?” (Yes, I’m a smart-mouthed wife. I’m working on it).
I am praying for you. Sister to Sister and Wife to Wife.
They may very well be. I am the one that used to be in control. I didn’t like direction or being told what to do.. Now I don’t so much mind and I can catch my mouth but haven’t quite gotten to where my looks don’t tell it all. I can def tell that the devil knows where I’m weak… His quickest attacks are always through my husband and children. Here lately neither of us have been in agreement on anything. I can say the football coach was really mean to the boys and his response “he’s getting them in line” and I’m like yelling at a 5 year old 6 inches from their face is not what you would consider good coaching of course in my opinion and I guarantee it can start from there and escalate.. So as of right now there haven’t been too many in depth conversations.. It will pass soon I pray it does! Yes I will keep you in prayer and do the same for me!!!! It’s a struggle becoming a Kingdom Woman!!!
Diana, Benton Harbor, MI, Teal (This Week) 1. I LOVE wedges, I will buy them anywhere I can find a good deal. 2. My purpose is mentoring youth and helping others. 3. One thing I can do to make myself feel more valuable is put on some makeup and a nice outfit. Between work and family, I haven’t had much time to get dolled up and I need to change that. 5. I frustrated the devil this past week when I pushed through stayed focused on my committmen to this Kingdom Woman journey. Between caring for a sick child, picking my son up from practice and work deadlines I felt like there weren’t enough hours in the day but I didn’t let that stop my from reading my book or my Bible.
Diana, I am so proud of you. That is a difficult schedule to keep up with. You are in my prayers. Even if you miss a day, don’t let the enemy discourage you. Just praise God for what time you have with Him and cry out to let Him know when you are struggling. He loves you – He loves to wrap His arms around you and just hug on you. Get your Hugs!
Lisa, Upper Marlboro, MD, Brown (something about it is calming to me!) Anyway, what’s up Kingdom Women!!

5. I frustrated the devil this past week when I removed some distractions (drama) from my life and was determined to be obedient to God even though I don’t know what the outcome will be
6. Chrystal, you hit home when you talked about how God can work with us because he sees our value even though our faith may just be in mustard seed form. Love it!!
Anita, Cleveland, Ohio, pink

Thanks Anita for your love and commitment to others. I pray for an extral blessing for you today!
1) My favorite shoes are flats or Nike frees!!! I am a woman of comfort lol
2) My purpose: I work at a group home with adolescent girls, as of where I am now I feel my purpose is to plant seeds in these girls lives. I take the girls to church on Sundays and leave encouraging and bible verses on their beds throughout the week. A lot of my girls have been through some traumatic experiences and seen a lot of evil, I feel I am here to shine a light on the darkness they are surrounded by and help them see there is more to life than what they have known.
3) slow jams and a hot shower every night; it’s my cool down for the day. Lol
4) I wld like others to show appreciation. A simple “thank you” and being a person of your word
5) I frustrated the devil this past week when I when I joined this one month journey and have fully committed to it.
6) both videos were great! I enjoyed the Q/A; the part about living a life of focus which also goes along with setting boundaries with your biblical priorities. I have a habit of taking on too much, and not focussing on what is right in front of me. I have to remember my 1st commitment and that is to God and doing his work.
Danielle, sunny San Diego ,CA purple!!
Yay purple! LOL! We are Kindred in the way of helping young girls! Keep up God’s work! He will bless you for it!!!
Danielle, what you do will not go unnoticed. So many young girls hurting out there and feeling like they don’t deserve to be treated right. I praise God for Kingdom Women like you who are willing to show them the love of God.
Thank you Jan. I defiantly have days where I feel burnt out and as if this cycle these girls are in is unchanging… But then when I have one girl mid week ask me if we are going to church on Sunday I know God is working. It might take time and I might not even notice at that time but I have to believe and have faith that Gods will will be done and with HIS help marvelous things can happen!

1. When I’m feeling adventurous, 4″+ platforms are my fave. DSW, Dillards, Off Broadway are my go to stores. Clearance section 1st, of course!
2. Encouraging teen/young adult moms that they are Destined 2 Succeed
3. Taking better care of myself. Spiritually, Physically, Emotionally, Financially
4. I can ensure that others treat me with dignity by first treating them with the same, plus respect. Others can make me feel valued by showing their appreciation, even for the small things.
5. I frustrated the devil when I studied the Word and prayed. Also by coming out of my comfort zone to participate in this journey with you ladies.
6. Even though I sometimes believe that I don’t have value, God says otherwise. I can live a life of excellence right now where I am in life. I don’t have to have it all together.
Jeralyn,Sterling,Colorado, purple, #1 Favorite shoe to wear..’Toms’ . Shop at DSW #2 To mentor and encourage women of all ages. #3 Take care of my body/health. #4 Sincerely ask how I am and want to hear my answer. #5…stopped trying to control other people.

1. Classic shoes whether heels or flats. The simpler the design, the better. DSW seems to be a store I’ve shopped at a lot. I think I’m done with shoe shopping for a while though because I have all the shoes I need. I plan to take a trip to the shoe repair shop before the year is up. I guess that’s where my shoe dollars are gonna go.
2. My purpose: to be a good writer & graduate student
3. Give myself a pedicure. It’s fun to do and I feel special when my feet are happy.
4. Be okay with letting me go at my own pace. I’m a native New Yorker with a naturally Georgian pace. It can be challenging at times in some environments.
5. “I frustrated the devil this past week when I stayed up until 2am to finish what I started.”
6. The gymnast illustration was perfect.

I love to put on a pair of heels every once and a while, but my all time favorite shoes to throw on are a pair of low top chuck taylors lol.. ☺ I love getting them from famous footwear because a lot of the times you can buy a pair get the second pair half off 🙂 . Im a “deals” kind of girl
Encourage others even when I’m feeling discouraged at times, fellowship with my fellow sisters/brothers in Christ and I mean deep fellowship the kind where we hold each other accountable for our actions, and help each other through times where we seem to be slipping, worship Him through obedience & praise, and be a loving mother
There is nothing more valuable than having Daily afternoon “Me” time..Whew !!! It such an amazing feeling to just sit in silence, read my favorite book, or take a well deserved nap.
I feel valued when I know I’ve made someone’s day through an encouraging text message I’ve sent , or when people comment on how well behaved and such a joy my 8 y/o daughter is.
I frustrated the devil this past week, when I decided to cut off my normal evening TV shows and instead have devotion with the Lord.
1 – I like to wear comfortable shoes, preferably flats. I shop all over, online, stores, etc.
2 – My purpose is to be the best wife I can be to Gil and Foster Mom (hopefully just Mom) to Faith.
3 – SHOPPING!
4 – Giving me an opportunity to have some “me time”. Having a 17 month old can be very tiring.
5- I frustrated the devil this past week when I held my tongue and didn’t say what was on my mind.
1. Cute sandals in summer/spring, and boots in winter are my favs! Shop where the bargains are! LoL
2. To minister to/encourage/uplift women (I am the Ladies Ministry Director at my church)
3. Occasional pampering, like a pedi or mani, and “alone time.”
4. Be honest. Be real. Treat others with respect and dignity and a lot of the time they treat you likewise.
5. “…..when I realized, through the Intro in this book, that I don’t have to feel “guilty” or apologize for the strength, etc. (as stated in the book) that God has given me. I so often “shrink” from the confidence I have (IN HIM!!), which shows through. I need to be humbly proud that I have been blessed in what He chose for me. Hope that made sense!!
Rachel,
I was just introduced to mani/pedi’s and I really like them. I don’t do them as often but they sure are a stress reliever! Welcome to the group!
I don’t get them as often as I’d like, maybe every 2-3 months, but I do enjoy them! 🙂 Thank you for the welcome! Love reading all the comments and being a part of a huge group of women like me who desire to be more for Him! 🙂
Alicia, Oklahoma City, Ok, Blue!
1. I have to say flats! I cant wear heels at all lol. I usually go to the outlet mall to get my flats.
2. I believe my purpose in life is to serve others. I love helping people.
3. Having a me day
4. I think the way someone can give me value, is to let me know that they appreciate me
5. I frustrated the devil this past week when I had quiet time with my Father!
Hello Alicia,
Girl, I love me some flats! I use to not wear heels because how uncomfortable they can be at times, UNTIL I found some that were comfortable and I could wear them more than two hours. I love your response in regards to frustrating the devil when you had quiet time with your Father!!!!!
Looking forward to learning more about you this month.

1) My favorite shoes to wear are tennis shoes. I am all about comfort. However, tennis shoes don’t go with everything but the same principle applies they have to be cute and comfortable. Dillard’s & DSW
2) To be a teacher/preacher (not ready to admit 2nd one) to women.
3) I am an introvert and giver, which drains me at times. Just spending some time to myself refreshes me and reminds me of who I am.
4) When people actually see past outer appearance and sees who I am as a whole that is true dignity and people seeing you as Jesus does. I try to give people that with hopes it will be given in return.
5) I frustrated the devil this past week when I did not give up on the fight and I won. 🙂
1. I naturally gravitate toward Skechers or tennis shoes, but now I’m trying to expand my horizons lol. Lately I’ve been wearing more stylish sandals and different types of stylish boots for the winter. I shop at Target, Bakers, Payless it really just depends.
2. My purpose: To serve and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
3. Alone time with God, polishing my nails (this is so therapeutic to me), quality time with my husband. Hanging out with family and friends.
4. I want to always be treated with respect even if you’re not saying something i want to hear saying it with respect goes a long way with me.
5. I no longer search for my value through the things or people in this world. I place my value in Jesus Christ who made me “he knows my inmost being, he knit me together in my mothers womb” (Psalms 139:14) that alone makes me feel more valuable than anything! The creator of this whole universe decided to take time out of his busy schedule to create me :). That brings me joy that no one can take away.
Amen, Nicole. When I think about the Lord and how much he loves us, I get so excited. I love my children, but He loves them more. The thought just swells my heart.

1. Cowboy boots and every kind of Keen. I shop a lot on line.
2.One of my purposes in Christ is to model a Christ following life to my daughters and the women in our small group as well as letting my light shine in my daily life.
3. Time to watch a Harry Potter movie and be able to work on my knitting. Or time to ride my horse.
4.I am pleasant and cheerful and courteous and expect that in return. It generally is a successful strategy.
5.I did not neglect meeting with Jesus and gave Him many moments in my day. I prayed throughout my day.
Kyaunnee, Miami, Florida, Pink
1. What soprano would not like to have a nice pair of sparkling heels with sparkles all around. I like pizazz!!!
2. Be an example for those in my alumni (high school, undergraduate and graduate), represent God in my profession, serving the body of Christ through worship and being a blessing to my family and church families.
3. Putting on a pretty dress.
4. The way to ensure that others treat you with dignity is to have dignity about yourself. Our actions are reflected by our walk and talk and I believe the way we carry ourselves is how people will respond to us. However, for those who do not know how to, it is also good to talk to them about how you would like to be treat, in love.
5. “I frustrated the devil this past week when I got up every morning to spend time thanking and seeking God.”
Tanya, Jackson, TN, yellow (or black if we’re talking favorite clothing color 🙂 )
1. Flip-flops are my go to when I’m not at work. Simple, easy, functional. I’m not a big shoe person, obviously LOL
2. How about 3 words? – I DON’T KNOW! I know the first step is to just get back into walking with Him. Once I get that done right, I know He will show me what He wants me to do.
3. I’m the daughter of the King of kings – can’t get much more valuable than that. I just remind myself of that fact when I feel down or unworthy.
4. I can’t control how others treat me. But I can control how I react to their treatment. I refuse to dwell on it and let it get me down.
I forgot to add Payless to my shoe shopping.
Mercedes – Hialeah, FL – Blue
1. As much as I love high heels, I can’t wear them, they kill my feet! I wear wedges, sandals and pumps. I also love boots, both booties and riding boots! I really shop for shoes anywhere I see something I like that I can afford. I do like to shop at the 6PM website, they have a large variety and great prices!!
2. I have always been drawn to people and them to me, they tend to come to me looking for counseling and advice at the worse times of their lives. I love helping people out. I am also praying To God to give me a new purpose or ministry.
3. It always helps me when I can take a day off and just spend it either alone or with my daughter, going shopping, having lunch, getting our nails done or going to Sephora and try out different brands of makeup. We don’t have to spend a lot of money, just talk, share, etc.
4. We all like to be appreciated…..Respect others, treat them with dignity, regardless of who they are and what they do. Once we understand that and practice this behavior, people will treat us with respect, even if they don’t agree with us!
5. “I frustrated the devil this past week when I took control of a situation, feeling strong and worthy”.
Mercedes,
I started wearing wedges not long ago! I think they are cute! And I agree with your view on respect.
Hi Kyaunnee, I used to wear high heels, but as I got older, I started replacing them with wedges and lower heels. They are really cute and a lot more comfortable for sure!!
God Bless!!
Good Morning Mercedes, I so enjoyed reading your #4. I had to read it more than once and will probably come back to it sometime today. That’s wonderful! Enjoy your day 🙂
Hi Katheryne,
Thank you for your comment, I am glad you enjoyed my #4. I try to practice this in my life, basically the Golden Rule: Do on to others as you want them to do on to you!!!
You have a blessed day!!
🙂

1. My favorite shoes are heels…stillettos, not those ‘kitten heels!” I shop for them wherever there is a sale-I know I need to do better in that area(cheap when it comes to me 🙁 ).
2. Be a comforter-as a nurse, & an encourager in rooms of recovery.
3. I try to go to the beauty shop and the nail shop regularly to make myself feel beautiful, significant.
4. I have recently learned how to say ‘no’ to men wanting to spend the night at my house!! (dont judge me. lol) Today I value myself more than that, I know my worth, and no amount of loneliness is worth destroying what God has given me. Im in a place now where Im not even interested in dating..closeness to God is what I long for, and its AWESOME!!! After all being single, and working in the Kingdom of God is a high calling 🙂 🙂
5. I frustrated the devil this past week when I attended the Women of Faith conference last week!! It was an awesome worship experience for everyone in attendance…on all 4days. I frustrate him daily though, starting my day off with corporate prayer at 6am…12noon…and 9pm…EVERYDAY!!!
What are kitten heels???? I think I’m behind again… Haha I have never heard this term used before!!!
Deborah, Bennettsville,SC, purple.
1. I like to wear slings. I think that they look very attractive on your foot but the main thing for me is that they make my foot look smaller 🙂 They also compliment you legs. I usually shop at Nine West.
2. Encourage others to hope, dream, realized how gifted they are.
3. Take a day off, get a massage, pedicure/manicure and just relax…
4. First thing that come to my mind is listen to me and know that I offer suggestions not to hurt or tell them what to do but, rather to help; and only help. I love to help people.
5. When I chose to “be still” I have been allowing the devil to draw me into responding out of my flesh. This is not a flesh war, it’s spiritual! I heard the God say, stop responding, I got this (him, her)…Focus on me….I will fight your battles as a matter of fact, I’ve already defeated any and everything you or anyone will ever face. This week, I chose to trust God on his word no matter how much it pained me to die to my flesh.
6. Chrystal, thank you for allowing God to use you in this mighty way. In your reflection, I saw a disciplined, focused, woman of God that will not let anything separate her from the love of God. I see a blind determination; I say blind because of the things promised but unseen. A know that you know that you know; no matter what. I believe it because, God said it. Now, I know that I must act upon it because He said it and my life, my husband and children lives, and generations to come in my family are in need of it; this is why I was created….
Lovie, Fort Worth, TX, Purple.
I can truly say I frustrated the devil this week when instead of figuring it out on my own, I went to the bible to get answers. I almost always try to figure out a problem on my own or ask someone. This time I went to Him and He answered. God is so awesome!
Lovie, that’s a good one. I tend to find myself trying to figure things out then I’m like, oh yeah, I have Jesus and His Word!
Lovie, I truly think that that is what our Daddy wants us to do in all situations. Keep going to the Word! I’ll pray for you and you pray for me. I too have the tendency to go to others before God; Not….Keep on pressing towards the Word of God; no way we can go wrong!
That’s awesome Lovie!
Latresia Montgomery AL, yellow
1. I love stilletos I feel very confident and attractive with them on
2. My outgoing personality usually puts a smile on people’s face
3. Pampering myself and do some shopping
4. You can’t guarantee that someone will treat you with dignity but it doesn’t matter as long as you are treating yourself with respect and if you are respecting yourself you want allow mistreatment from anyone
5. I frustrated the devil this week by continuing to hold on to my husband through this storm of frustration, pain and struggle but the grace of God knows my heart and will work it out…Lord please wrap my marriage in your loving arms and guide us through this stormm keep us safe lord…AMEN
Latresia,
The more you share, the more I think we have in common.. on your #5.. mine has been very similar. Tension is in the house right now and I’m not even quite sure why. I pray for you and your marriage.. its not easy but it’s worth it in the end. I just feel sort of disconnected from my husband at the moment. He’s not one I can just get all sensitive with and cry to. I hate it when he sees me cry.. I have been dealing with a lot of things internally and I guess he has been the center of my frustrations.. between him and the kids I just can’t get away. I did however enjoy when the kids were at school today and he was at work and it was peace and quiet. I work nights so I am usually at work at this time but they sent people home due to lack of work.. so it’s like when I get home… he doesn’t interact with the kids or anything, he just goes off in the room and sort of dumps them on me (they aren’t biologically his) so it’s just been one thing after another that I have been dealing with.
Megan, Dayton, OH, navy blue
1. I love my slippers when I’m at home, but I’ve also loved wearing my Keens during the summer. When it gets colder, my Birkenstock clogs are my shoe of choice. I don’t buy shoes very often, but when I do, I usually go to DSW or Kohls.
2. Being my sons’ mom and cooking for others in need
3. Accept a compliment gracefully instead of discounting it
4. Speak up for myself – don’t let other take advantage of my kind actions towards them
5. …I prayed for patience and wisdom in dealing with my son instead of getting more frustrated with him
Sonja, Fort Worth, pink
1. My favorite shoes are clogs. I have been smitten since my first pair in kindergarten.
2. In this season, I believe God wants me to open my heart wider for fellowship with others.
3. I treat myself to a new tube of lipstick. Sometimes it works and sometimes it never leaves my bathroom. But I must admit that I sure do get a chuckle and a big smile.
4. I feel most valued when others just take time for me. I enjoy having a friend over to spend time crafting together or sharing a cup of tea. So I must also give others my time to value them as well.
5. I frustrated the devil this week when I chose to stop crying over past disappointments and start loving passionately from that fuel.
5. Thanks for the video this morning. It was so real and encouraging.
Elza, Nazareth, orange
1. My favorite shoes are flats, some heels & sneakers (Jordans & Asics). I like to be comfortable. I like Nine West and sneaker stores.
2. Minister to women of all ages, write and publish books…
3. Turn my phone off and have “me” time.
4. Don’t only reach out to me only because of a personal need. Check on me from time to time with no personal agenda or request.
5. I frustrated the devil this past week when I didn’t take part in gossip at work (neither listening nor being verbal in the conversation).
6. “Do the things that matter well.” This sticks out to me and I pray that I am always sensitive to His Spirit to hear instruction as to what I should be doing in any given moment and love Him enough to DO it. That statement reminded me of Luke 10:41-42 where Martha was busy with preparations and Mary was sitting at the feet of Christ; He told Martha that only one thing was necessary.. That popped in my head as I listened to the video.
Shar, Atlanta, GA, blue
1. I love wedges, but my absolute favorite is sneakers. My husband buys most of my shoes. Lol! However, I shop at Macy’s, Shoedazzle, and the obvious…any store that sells sneakers.
2. to be my husband’s helpmate and help guide my kids
3. Keeping myself in a certain weight range and getting my hair done makes me feel like a jewel. I know it sounds silly, but that makes me feel priceless.
4. Showing me the respect that others want and that I deserve in my eyes would make me feel valued.
5. I frustrated the devil this past week when I gave my friend Godly advice. What’s frustrating is that she knows better. I’m happy that she is open to listening.
Courtney, Grapevine, Texas, Coral
1. I love a cute flip flop or a cute flat! I’m loving JC Penny’s shoe collection this year! Plus, most of the flats are between $7 – $20! This is when I normally sin and buy my favorite shoe in every color…. Pray for me!
2. Spread God’s truths to women who are broken
3. I can tell myself that God saved me from THREE suicide attempts! He sees I’m worth saving and have purpose.
4. I can politely stand up for myself. I have a hard time setting boundaries and sometimes people walk all over me…. With those four-inch red stiletto heels!
5. I frustrated the devil this past week when I woke up late for church, and even spilled orange juice on me! Yes, I was late, but I made it for the word! He thought he had me and I was going to stay home!
6. The video was encouraging and gave me peace after a weary day!
Hi Courtney, I enjoyed your post because of how you expressed yourself. It took me a long time to learn about good boundaries. I often thought that expressing my boundaries was impolite. Then someone gave me a good book that got me started and on my way. The book was Safe People by Henry Cloud and John Townsend. After reading that book, I began taking note and observing people who were confident in setting and expressing their boundaries in a way that I felt I could imitate. It was a process that with patience and compassion from the family of God, I was able to begin. So glad to be on this journey with you.
Hi Katheryne! As my mother would say, “Chile! It ain’t but one way to tell it, and tell like it is! No suga’ coating it!” So, I’ve learned to say things just how it really is. Some of my friends ask me how can I share so much of me with hundreds of woman I don’t know online? Simple, in some way we’re all going through the same things. Plus, I like to tell people my story because there’s hope! Especially with those suicide attempts. The doctor said I shouldn’t be here. If that ain’t something to share, then what is! Clearly God isn’t through with me and sees my potential! Don’t get me to preaching on here! 🙂
I own that book! I just need to read it!
Preach on…I felt a “Hallelujah” welling up in me as I read your note. Keep praising Him! It’s contagious 🙂

#1 Nike Cross Trainers- I tend to shop at Famous Footwear so I can buy shoes for me and my girls in one place but I could hang out in Lady FootLocker for 2 hours without blinking.
#2 To be the wife my husband needs- not the one he wants
#3 I need to make a point of taking 30 minutes, 5 days a week to workout and lose this weight!
#4 I always try to put what I want to receive out into the world. It’s not fair in any part of our lives to ask for more than you’re willing to give. That leads to my husband. He has a habit of talking at me instead of to me when he’s upset about something. I’m worth a direct conversation even if it’s an unpleasant one.
#5 I frustrated the devil this past week when I refused to participate/respond to a passive aggressive co-worker. (I have a slight temper and low tolerance for stupid.)

#1 Wedges – wherever I can find a good price shoe.
#2 I believe my purpose is to encourage and help people.
#3 Stop constantly thinking of past mistakes and worrying about peoples thoughts about me.
#4 Present myself as a confident, self respecting woman who knows how to remove and/or let go of things that are detrimental to my well being.
#5 I frustrated the devil this week when one lady at my new job fibbed to say I was late and taking multiple breaks. She told half of the department and they watched me like a hawk. I was hurt and disapointed but I prayed and asked the Lord to turn it around. The Holy Spirit said you did nothing wrong, continue to be on time and it will be okay. They went from not speaking and staring at me to being friendly and not caring 2 cents about me leaving my desk.
Hallelujah! Lol
1. My favorite shoes now are my Coach flats. They are stylish, but so ccomfortable! I actually like TJ Maxx because you have so many different brands in one place with great prices.
2. My purpose now is to make sure I am together spiritually so I can raise a kingdom man; my son!

1- My denim slip on (tom’s-style) Sam & Libby shoes from Burke’s (an outlet store… kind of like TJ MaXX, and recently some Laredo boots that I got at Marti & Liz.
2- Help grow a mightily effective family
3- Hug my kids
4- Conduct myself with dignity.
5- I frustrated the devil this past week when sat by someone whom I hardly know in church who comes by herself & I know is struggling. I give the illusion of extrovert in crowds, but I’m really an introvert. The fewer the people and the more personal the conversation, the higher the anxiety.

1. I love some nice pumps.. I favor round toe shows with a nice 3 inch heel!!! I don’t have a favorite brand as I wear them all, but if I had to pick I would say Jessica Simpson or Antonio M. from Dillards.
2. Strong content single woman and encouraging educator to my students I teach in my second job.
3. Pamper myself with a massage or nice relaxing bath!
4. I shouldn’t allow people to take advantage of me. I tend to be so caring at times that place others in front of my own well being.
5. I am sure I made the devil frustrated when I sent my friend some encouraging words who has experienced a lot of negative things in her life recently (from an earlier assignment) and when I focused on my confidence this week. Memorizing scripture related to confidence and listening to Christian music that reminded me of my confidence in God.

Am I missing something?? No one has posted on the 3 Things Thursday. Are they putting it on their blogs instead!?? I’m trying to keep up!!!!
@stephanie. I tried but somehow it would not let me reply.
I don’t know what’s going on! I’m on the Thursday blog all by myself lol
I just posted on the 3 things Thursday l

1. Shoes, shoes, shoes! Well, I’ve never been a big shoe shopper but, my faves are tennis shoes and sandles with a slight 1-2 inch heel! Where do I shop? Where the sales are!
2. Encouraging others and sharing my gifts with my immediate circle of influence.
3. This year I’ve been celebrating my birth month ALL month with simple “pleasures”, even just waking up and thanking God for allowing me to open my eyes for the day!
4. I try to treat others the way I would want to be treated. When they don’t, I give them a gentle nudge and/or hints to let them know how I feel. I try not to let things fester. But I try to ensure that when I approach someone, especially my husband, it’s an appropriate time when they will be ready to receive what I’m saying.
5. I frustrated the devil this past week when I didn’t allow my past issues to distract and overtake my present.

1. I really don’t like to wear shoes 🙂 But when I do I like any shoes from Target. That my favorite store.
2. Being a listening ear & supportive to little people & young adults.
3. Taking care of myself mind, body & soul : fighting the fat demon (in my Chrystal voice), getting my eyebrows done, pedi & mani, sitting & enjoying a quite room.
4. Just a simple thank you.
5. I frustrated the devil this past week when I prayed daily (before my feet hit the floor) & gave my day to The Lord.
Q5 – Great! Such a simple and yet powerful things to do!

Q1. I love HIGGH heels, wedges, pumps. The higher the better with a thick platform. They don’t need to be expensive, just cute and comfortable enough for me to walk in. #ballonabudget #Istayonshoedazzleandjustfab
Q2. I mentioned in the twitter party that i’m praying to find my purpose. I feel like i’m in the process of learning what God wants me to do. Through this Kingdom Woman journey I hope to discover exactly what God has called me to do.
Q3. Maintaining my hair. Its a constant struggle for me, but when my hair looks good I feel good.
O4. hmm.. I like to be recognized for good work. Words of affirmation like, “great job jen, or I appreciate you” are ways I know I’m valued..
Q5. I frustrated the devil this past week by choosing to stay with my exercise routine and not give up.
Q6. The q&a that you did with your dad was great, One thing that spoke to me was his answer on biblical dating. When he explained to pray to the holy spirit to orchestrate natural connections for your relationships and friendships. My eyes opened wide, this was such a simple answer and right on target. To be honest I never thought to pray to the Holy Spirit directly! I pray to God, I pray to Jesus, but not just to the Holy Spirit, which I should be doing, because they are all one.
Wow! that answer blew my mind. It was a aha moment for me. I immediately had a conversation with the Holy Spirit and introduced myself.. I then called my mom told her and then my single girlfriends as well to tell them what I heard.
Thanks to the person who asked this question you helped me 🙂
Q2 – Praying tha tGod makes it clear to you.
Q3 – Right there with you.
Q5 – You just encouraged me. Maybe I”ll do this evening what I was supposed to do yesterday.
Q6 – Awesome!
Good Morning Jennifer, you’re welcome. <> The answer Dr. Evans gave was helpful to me too. Like you, I like his use of the word “natural.” When he said to do what comes naturally to you, I felt a sense of release from the pressure to have to not be myself. I’m so glad this was helpful to you too. Have a great day!

1. My favorite shoes to wear are tennis shoes. I shop at athletic stores like FootLocker & Nike Outlet.
2. God’s purpose is for me to serve the body of Christ through Worship.
3. One thing I can do for myself that will help me feel significant and valuable is to continue on my path of health and fitness.
4. I can ensure that others treat me with dignity by not granting their requests of me if it’s not communicated with love and fairness. One thing that others could do that would make me feel valued would be to respect my time as if it were just as valuable as theirs.
5. I frustrated the devil this week when I didn’t inquire about a text that someone sent my husband. The text upset me, but I know if I would have said something to him about it, there would have been an argument. I took time to rethink it and came to the conclusion that maybe it wasn’t all I thought it to be.
6. In the video, you said that I’m valuable because God says so! That resonated with me because sometimes we as women are so quick to forget that. It’s the simple things that we need to be reminded of sometimes; simply because God said it, then it is so!
Welcome Michelle! You said… ” I can ensure that others treat me with dignity by not granting their requests of me if it’s not communicated with love and fairness.” I love that!

1) Not a big fan of high heels ever since the time I almost fell carrying my son 🙂 I love the Nike Pegasus! Great running shoe to chase my kids down with out falling lol. I will shop at any store that has a clearance, don’t mind being out of style 🙂
2) To help others in need.
3) Drink my coffee in the morning and have my quiet time to read my Bible.
4) Stop saying I can’t and start believing in myself so others could see the confidence in me.
5) I frustrated the devil this week when I reminded my kids to love one another and to remember to give thanks to The Lord for giving us another day.
6) I love the example you did. Sometimes we have to make that jump or leap of faith and hope we land flat on our feet with our hands straight up reching for our Heavenly Father….
1. Well I’m 5’10” but unfortunately I have inherited my dad’s large and wide feet, so I wear a 12W. It’s hard to find a cute and comfortable shoe in that size so I usually stick with flip flops and ballet flats that are semi-stylish from Payless (shrug). I’m more of a jewelry girl because that always fits!

1. I actually love being bare footed the most, but if I must, sandals and a fresh pedicure are what you will find me in outside of work. I buy most of my shoes from DSW Shoe Warehouse or Dillard’s.
2. Serve as a mentor to young minorities athletes
3. Take care of the body/temple the Lord has entrusted to be by exercising the abilities and strengths he has blessed me with.
4. Tell me that my hard work doesn’t go unnoticed, but, in fact, is appreciated.
I want to to thank you for this excellent read!! I certainly enjoyed every little bit of it. I have got you book-marked to check out new things you post…|
