What exactly is Monday’s Mission?
Every Monday during our #KingdomWoman “One Month Journey”, I will give you an assignment. It’s great to read a book but what’s even better? Seeing change in your life because a book’s message taking root in your life. Your Monday’s Mission will be an opportunity for any woman who is reading Kingdom Woman to get ideas for applying Kingdom Woman. I don’t know about you but I want to activate change in my life!
Before we move forward with today’s mission…

~ Your “Mission” for Today ~
Choose from any of the following missions as a way to put “feet” to your faith!
Encourage Another Woman Today – On page 9, I ask the question, “…where is this woman – who is this woman – who regularly and consistently positions herself under … God’s complete rule over her life?” Sometimes we tend to see the God at work in the lives of others much easier than we can it in ourselves. And sometimes, that’s not a bad thing! Think of a woman in your sphere of influence who might be encouraged to hear that very message from you. Make it a point today to call her, send a text, message her on Facebook, or drop a card in the mail to tell her about the good and the God you see in her. Who knows? She may be struggling to see herself as a Kingdom Woman too. Your encouragement might just be what the doctor ordered!
Set aside time today to be with God – On page 13, Tony Evans says, “Jesus specifically stated that Mary had chosen the better thing by engaging in theological study at the feet of Christ…” If you are anything like me, you have the greatest intentions of regularly spending time with the Lord but maybe don’t always experience success. Decide today when you will meet with Him and make it your goal today to do just that. If you are not sure how to have a quiet time with God, you can read more by clicking HERE and also HERE. Two easy ideas for quiet time reading? A daily chapter in the book of Proverbs or five chapters a day in Psalms. Either way, you will finish each book in 30 days!
Do something today to celebrate YOU – On page 14, you read, “You are significant. You are valuable. You are worth more than jewels…. You are to be treated as a treasure, not as someone to be trashed or used.” Now I’m not telling you that this means you should go out and spend money that you don’t have on things that you don’t need! Nor am I saying that you should exalt yourself in a haughty way above others cuz all God’s children have value right? What I am saying is that many times we take care of everyone else besides ourselves and we don’t treat ourselves like we choose to treat others. So here are some ideas to get your juices flowing:
- Get some exercise (a 10 minute walk is good if you are currently doing nothing!)
- Treat yourself to a nice lunch out.
- Use lipstick or a dry erase marker to write 3 positive things about yourself on your bathroom mirror (don’t clean the mirror for awhile)
- Pick up some flowers on your way home from work or during your grocery store trip (just because you’re worth it!). Carnations are cheap and will do the trick!
- Write a letter of encouragement to yourself! Just like you would write one to someone else! Sounds crazy but it works! Mail it to yourself and read it then to remind yourself about what you wrote.
- Load those kids in that minivan and take yourself out to coffee. McDonalds or Starbucks will do! Then drive around until you finish your drink! (By the time you get home and unload the kids the coffee will be cold so keep driving until you are finished!)
- Go to bed a little earlier tonight.
- Your life is worth recording and remembering! If you haven’t already, start writing in a journal or start a blog!
- Take a long, hot scented bubble bath with candles lit and soft music playing in the background.
- Use your China. Use your wine glasses (even if they just have apple juice in them).
- Listen to your favorite CDs tonight just because. I’m talking about the CDs that you used to love listening to but haven’t pulled out in a long time…
- Visit a particular store you absolutely love, and make notes of all the things you want to buy there when you can afford them. Make a wish list.
- Prepare your favorite dinner (or pick it up) and eat it out on your balcony, patio, or porch.
- Call yourself and leave a message on your own voicemail telling yourself how great you are! After you listen, be sure and save it to listen again one day soon.
What’s Coming Up This Week!
Tomorrow is our Blog Hop! I love having the opportunity to share with y’all as we go through this journey together study, but what I love even more is hearing how the study is impacting your life and making it possible for you to hear from each other! Connection is a wonderful thing. You won’t be able to link up until tomorrow but here are the topics so you can begin thinking about them or even writing them!
- On page 8 Tony Evans states, “We lack the direction to truly live out our [kingdom] destinies.” And on page 9 he wrote, “Many women today still struggle with turning over personal control in their lives, thus opening themselves up to heartache, loss, and chaos.” In what ways do you struggle to turn over personal control of your life to God?
- Eleanor Roosevelt said, “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” Do you struggle with feelings of insecurity or inferiority? Why? How has the introduction helped you to have a greater sense of confidence as a Kingdom woman? What is one goal you can set today that will help you fulfill your purpose as a kingdom woman?
- This week we’ve been reading Psalm 139. Share what you have gleaned from this passage. What has God taught you? What can you start doing differently as a result of your study? Remember! Babysteps… one step at a time 🙂
- In what ways do see yourself as “naturally gifted to influence and impact” your world (page 4)? How are you using your gifts to do just that? Remember! Your “gifts can be used anywhere and be for the glory of God!… home, work, church, neighborhood, etc.
By the way, if you don’t have a blog, no worries! Ladies over at Proverbs31.org put it this way, “Bloggina is a great way to process, dream, express, and share. If you don’t want to blog, no pressure at all. But if you’ve been considering it, why not take the plunge? ” I concur 🙂
Kingdom Woman Wednesday – Dad and I will be at the blog waiting for you with a video to both review and discuss the introduction as well as answer your questions! Be sure and submit your question ASAP! You will also receive this week’s “R & R”.
Facebook Party – Wednesday @ Noon (CST) – More details coming soon!

Yes it shows! Welcome!
I absolutly love these ideas on how to treat yourself. I actually decided to fast this week, so the suggestion to read a chapter of Proverbs each day will be a great addition to what I am already doing. I am anticipating outstanding results from the Lord, even if its a small whisper of “Jeanna you are doing fabulous” or a huge blessing; either way I am grateful and will take it. Love this entire experience thus far, Chrystal you really keep us engaged with one another and thinking throughout the day. Its amazing because I actually prayed on starting a blog and asked that could would anoint me with the right words to say. So this in fact was confirmation that I should give it a try….off I go!
Thank God for you Chrystal!!! This means more than you’ll ever know!! #KingdomWomanInTheMaking
Thank you Chrystal!! I submitted an in-depth question that I pray you or your father can help me with. Thanks for your transparency; your honesty and willingness to share your life with us, the body of Christ.
I’m playing my favorite Pandora station as I work about the house today. Reading Ps 139 is a struggle for me b/c I do not feel fearfully & wonderfully made so I can’t believe you made that part of week 1! :p I’m clinging to verse 5 that He has me hemmed in behind & before (loose translation in my head) as for my future this week & this month.
My Kingdom Woman mentor that I mentioned for the Weds intro is coming to me today to pray for me.
Thank you, Chrystal, for breathing fun & freshness & life into us (me!) this month. ((hugs)) Know that if I’m packing a bag tomorrow, the book & my Bible are ready to go with me. I’ll just miss you here online.
I am so glad I stumbled up on this One Month Journey. This has been so good already! I need to go out a buy a copy of Kingdom Woman for every woman in my life!
Crystal, Tyler, Texas, Solo
I’m so glad to be joining this journey. I haven’t been able to purchase the book, but I’ll be able to soon hopefully.
Ladies, I can say apologetically that I did not participate on Friday’s prayer. I work nights so by the time I was able to get up, grocery shop, tend to kids, clean up and do the ongoing list of ‘to do’s’ I did not get the opportunity. This weekend was something else! After a lot of prayer and staying busy, I was able to regroup today. My children were off at school and I had breakfast with my Pastor’s wife who is my spiritual mother. I was able to release and gain more wisdom and knowledge and come to an understanding of all the events that took place this weekend. This is definitely a journey that can only be taken one day at a time. I do want to add however that I did take time to meditate on the list of prayers and pray for each lady that is taking time to learn what it is to become a Kingdom Woman. Time never seems to be on my side. I will start dinner in 10 minutes, feed my children, pack lunch and go to work.. I will be able to take time at work to gather my thoughts and apply what I am learning. I ask for continued prayer with being a good steward of time and biting my tongue when it comes to the comments my husband makes jokingly. I can say that I have learned Psalm 139:23-24 and am looking forward to Wednesday!!!! Thank you again Chrystal for this wonderful opportunity and I will do my very best to participate more frequently because I know this is something we all need.
No apologies necessary! Do what you can! Let the rest go 🙂 The journey is supposed to bless you, not STRESS you 🙂
Thank you for the encouragement! I am really striving for discipline… I’m relying on Jesus to see me through. My weeks are pretty routine, it’s the weekends that throw me for a loop!!!! Hahahahaha
I didn’t really get any part of “Monday’s assignment” done (unless you count eating OUT of the office at a restaurant to escape the craziness of the office today)…but I wanted to share: as Monday-at-the-office hit hard today and early, I found myself at my desk trying to meditate on your excellence message (I won’t say too much as to not spoil for those that haven’t read that part). I tried to focus on God, say a silent prayer, and focus on being excellent thru GOD amidst the turmoil, DESPITE the turmoil. And yes, it helped. Praise God, and thank you for the section on EXCELLENCE!
Jessica or Jaye, Jacksonville, Fl, solo…
#1 I’d probably sing The theme song to the kids show Doc McStuffins…I love to see my 9 month olds reaction when that comes on TV…so sweet and funny!
#2 mom, wife, struggling with marriage, seeking God’s will, LOVE GOD
I did Monday’s assignment without even reading it! I went to lunch with a woman that is “like a mom” to me! It was great. Of course, I had my little one, Jazzlynn, on my lap but she is a joy to have. (She and I are accessories to each other because I am breastfeeding.) I just got my book today and as we speak, or as I type, I am preparing to begin reading! I have 3 kids in all…My middle schooler and 4th grader are in bed…Little Jazz is almost asleep…so honey chamomile tea and Kingdom Woman will be my companions until 11 pm. I am SOOOOOOO excited! I just know that God is going to do something in me over these next few weeks!
Chamomile Tea is a winner!
Nicole, Farmington Hills Mo, solo
I completed my assignment! I spent some much needed alone time with God. I love journaling, I’ve been flirting with the idea of starting a blog for years but just didn’t know where to start. The info you posted about starting a blog was very helpful. Thanks
Awesome!
Michelle, DFW, TX, solo, wrote my letter today to encourage a friend. 🙂 Thanks to you, I now have a Gravatar. 🙂
Whoooooop! Cute Gravatar too 🙂
I completed today’s assignment without even knowing it. Glad to be a part of this community. Now I am thinking about tomorrow’s blog post.
I did not hjave time to complete the assignment for today. I work full time, go to school, homeschooling my boys, and if I don’t do what’s needed to be done in my house, it will fall apart. By the time my kids are going to bed, I’m going too. How do I make time for me with all that I have to do????
I live in Nazareth and I’m reading Kingdom Woman along with my best friend.
1. I would sing “Clear the Stage” by Jimmy Needham.
2. single. satisfied. praying for debt forgiveness. laughter daily. in Love.
3. My god mom and my spiritual mama have been and are definitely, DEFINITELY positive, strong, godly role models to me. They challenge me and help me to grow in God. They love me incredibly and always tell me the truth (along with my birth mom, some aunts and my grandmother 😉
4. I will be a Kingdom Woman when I immediately obey each thing God instructs me to do out of a heart full of trust in and love for Him, not choosing what I will do, but choosing to do it all.
5. “Before I was who I would be when I was fully formed, You saw me and You loved me” (I believe that’s part of verse 16). This truly makes my heart and face smile because God’s love is sure, beautiful, amazing and true. Thank you for praying for us Chrystal. I’m excited about this journey! I will become who He created me to be in His timing.
