Podcast: Play in new window
I’ve spent the month of July sharing on YouTube about what it means stay awake to your life. Don’t worry. The podcast is not being shut down or neglected. I just wanted to try something new. Right at the end of the month, my plans for discussion were derailed because my last YouTube Live was scheduled with my cousin Wynter, a week to the day of her sudden and unexpected passing.
I planned to skip the episode but instead, I decided to talk about grieving and hurting and how to handle life when it’s hard with my good friend Heather MacFadyen. That topic has seemed to resonate strongly with those that watched. Because last week’s YouTube Live seemed to be helpful for so many, I wanted to make the audio available via podcast as well for those of you who prefer to listen to this conversation instead of watching it. I also put together a 3 page PDF with practical tips on what to do you or someone you love is hurting. You can find it at chrystalevanshurst.com/whenlifehurts.
Honestly, I was hesitant to do last week’s Youtube Live. If you watched it you know why. But I’ve been so encouraged by the responses I’ve received. So many of you are working through your own hurt and found my conversation with Heather MacFadyen to be helpful. I encourage you to listen to the audio of the YouTube Live or even watch the replay if you can — especially if you or someone you love is grieving. I think you’ll find it to be real, practical, and encouraging.
By the way… because I’ve received such a positive response to sharing on Youtube, I’ll be continuing to provide video content there! It may not be weekly but be sure and subscribe to the channel so you don’t miss any of them!
In the meantime, let me know how this conversation resonates with you, helps you, or encourages you. I pray that it does. And don’t forget to grab the PDF! You can find it here.

Hit me right where I hurt. Thank you for being transparent about the doubts and questions we have about eternity after the death of a loved one. We know what the Bible says but hard to comprehend how that actually happens. They close their eyes and they’re with God the next second. Many would say it is “sacrilege” to even verbalize thinking that way. Thank you for keeping it 100!
listening to this and balled my eyes out,not because i lost loved one but, because they don’t know Christ ( my grandparents) this might sound wired but i was listening to your podcast while studying and i had to leave and cry in the washroom and cried out to God that he won’t let them die before they know his LOVE .THANK YOU for what you do .
Praying with you today for their salvation.
