Podcast: Play in new window
While many of us want to be free, why don’t we feel free? Real life struggles seem to get in the way of the freedom we desire. We feel stuck in the unhealthy patterns that trap us. Anger and frustration at either ourselves or others entangle and wreck our relationships. Repeated cycles of sin keep us repenting of the same thing. On top of all of this, the Enemy wants you to believe the lie that there isn’t grace for the very real challenges we face in our fight for freedom.
Jess Connolly and I discuss the life-altering potential of grace-filled, freedom-powered living. What is the connection between grace and freedom? What does it mean to experience the strength of grace — both the giving and receiving of this heart-changing truth? Grace matters greatly in the search for freedom. Grace provides a safe place: a place where you can be honest, quit the striving, and share the truth of your deep-seated needs. Need to experience freedom in your life? Exhale and experience the beauty of grace.
Listen to this episode as Jess and I tackle the lie surrounding the idea of freedom. You were never meant to live chained. Grace is available. You are loved and valued, and God is for you. Live free.

Such a a great podcast! Can’t currently pinpoint any lies that are keeping me from walking freely, but there are definitely places in my life where I am angry and frustrated. Angry about custody situation with my children. Frustrated with finances and was becoming frustrated with my children due to M.A.D.D (Mommy A.D.D – the inability to focus or finish tasks due to the constant cry of mommy). I definitely needed to address my exhaustion and need for rest and respite to be more graceful with myself and my kids. I feel free to share because I believe I’ve allowed God access to all my nooks and crannies so I don’t have anything to hide.
So yesterday I couldn’t pinpoint a lie but today I came face to face with one. After walking through a season with CPS and losing custody of my older children a part of me feels like a horrible mom. I saw it clearly this morning after dropping my kids off at school. My son didn’t want to go to school and he didn’t want breakfast so I spent most of my time calming him down while my little girl quietly did a puzzle on her own. Something told me to grab a cereal bar on the way out the door but I was told breakfast didn’t stop being served until 9 and we clearly had time. But when I walked in the classroom door at 850 the teacher was cleaning the tables. I felt horrible but I said nothing. I didn’t fight for my girl to get breakfast and I cried all the way home. So I didn’t feel free to say hey my children have not eaten yet because I was told breakfast was served until 9. So I had to ask myself the hard question, why?
