Podcast: Play in new window
Life can be difficult. And some time the difficulties that we face are not a result of our bad decisions or even the bad decisions of others, sometimes life can just be hard. On today’s podcast I’m talking with Jan Greenwood, a woman who has lived through, and is still living through a hard season. What I love about Jan is that she has learned how to live through hard seasons well and what it looks like to trust God when life is tough.
Jan is a the Women’s Pastor of PINK @GatewayPeople, author of Women at War & breast cancer survivor. On today’s podcast, she shares what choosing life has meant for her. Jan also shares what it looks like to live with questions we don’t always have the answers to and what it looks like to war from a place of rest. I was greatly encouraged by what Jan had to share and believe you will be too.

Chrystal, thank you so much for sharing this today. I have been going through some very stressful days since August at my job and at home. My husband has cerebral palsy and has been unable to work since 2007. As the years have gone by I am gradually having to do more things around the house and I am still working a full time job. I needed to hear this to remind me that others have it worse than I do. Listening to Jan has opened up my eyes and realized that no matter what I am going thru, God is always there. Today I choose to focus on God tightly to make it through this season of my life. This has truly blessed me today.
So glad to hear that you were encouraged!
In case someone is looking for it, the verse she refers to about choosing life or death is actually found at Deut 30:19.
Thank you!
Chrystal this podcast was for Me today. My Mom is currently battling Gallbladder cancer-we lost my Dad 13 years ago to Bladder cancer. Before I begin listening to this, I had started writing verses down to place all over my mother’s house and then I heard Jan say that’s what she did in 2009. This so hit home for me and was very encouraging for me being the caregiver for my Mom during this journey. What’s even more ironic is during our Kingdom Sunday on 11/6- the men, women, and kids, get up and speak on what we learned from our Wednesday Kingdom Men & Women meeting and I was one of the women who spoke and I spoke on putting on the Full Armor of God! Chrystal you did “listen” for me- I was/ I am that daughter. There’s so much more even down to when she spoke about the tumor markers that Jan spoke of, I was like WOW. I will keep on trusting in God even though my life is tough right how, and will keep my mind tightly focused on the goodness of God! This really blessed and encouraged me today. Thank You for obedient to your call.
Beautiful and timely podcast!
I especially loved when Jan stated that God spoke to her regarding “warring from a place of rest”.
Wow, wow, wow! !!
That part really penetrated my spirit!
Thx for sharing – I am truly blessed and encouraged behind this podcast!
Great podcast!
Jan is so full of life and you can hear the joy she has for living coming from her words.
It’s so hard when we get dealt a hand we didn’t plan, but she’s come to live from a place of humble acceptance and I definitely need to work on that in my own life.
Thank you for sharing your heart Jan.
This right here??? I have listened to it twice and shared it with some other folks who I think it would bless. Thank you so much for this “chat”. U always ask the right, practical questions…. #squareup
This podcast really spoke to me. I am a newly restored believer who is older and has several chronic illnesses. I liked what your speaker had to say. Thanks!

Wow… going through a hard time right now. The message about choosing life, and choosing to trust God even when you cannot see Him working, is so important. Knowing He is good, even when everything around you feels bad, is what I needed to hear. Thank you for your great questions – it helps to understand what trust looks like…
Thanks for listening!
I’ve had this bookmarked for a while, but just got to listen to it today. So good! To war from a place of rest is my goal. Not there yet, not even close, but this was encouraging.
