Podcast: Play in new window
In the last few months, I’ve had it rough.
I’m not gonna lie. One son breaking his arm. Turning in a book. Moving. Another son ending up in the ER just this weekend. And all of this on top of my normal life which for some reason is rarely smooth sailing.
I don’t like fighting through life but I’ve learned something.
Fighting is a part of life.
And it is through the fight that you become stronger and more prepared for what God has for you in your future.
On today’s podcast I want to encourage you to stick it, stay in the fight, then believe that you are indeed an overcomer. And, despite how you might feel, I want to encourage you to act like you are an overcomer.
It’s not enough to live hoping that you are an overcomer, you must believe that you are because of God’s work in you. Then you must participate with God by walking in obedience to His Word.
You don’t have to feel like an overcomer to be one.
But when you choose to act like you are an overcomer, your feelings will follow your feet.
If you are in Christ you are not fighting for victory, you are fighting from victory. I hope this message is a reminder to you are an overcomer. The victory is already yours.

Oh my!!!! This was totally on point and just what the Lord has been dealing with me lately. I love the “ACT AS IF” phrase and I pray I will never forget it! I want to apply it daily. Thank you for taking time to share.
Thank you so much for those words. I especially needed to hear the part where you said to proceed “as if” we already have what God has in store for us. Everyday I struggle with overcoming fear. I so want to and need to change in order to get out of this season in my life. As I cried and prayed for God to help me in overcoming my job search fears, your email link to this podcast came right in at the needed time. I love how you are so down to earth in sharing your thoughts and messages. Please continue to encourage and do what you do. God bless you and your family.
Love God’s timing!
Chrystal, thank you so much for this word! I literally after receiving another job rejection was about to have a serious ‘meltdown’, but then I opened your podcast…..!! Thank you!!! Your words pulled me from tipping over into depression. I love your podcasts…. God has truly anointed you to bring encouragement and truth to His people. Thank you!
God is always on time! I have been struggling with a transition that is happening in my life and believing that God will answer my prayers. I needed to hear these words about overcoming. God bless you.
Thank-you so much! I have been fighting for years for several of the things you mentioned. I just want to give up sometimes on praying and believing God is going to answer, but this reminds me to stay in the fight. This encourages me to ACT AS IF my daughter and husband will one day be Christians. To ACT AS IF , he will attend church with me and be a Godly influence for our 12 year old son. That my 20 year old daughter would, go the right direction in her life.
I so needed this! Thank you so much! I prayed just this morning to please let me hear Gods voice today concerning this (I’ve really been struggling with fear/anxiety/worry) & I believe he spoke to me just through this! Can’t wait to finish the podcast tomorrow on my drive to work.
good morning Chrystal, Lord gave me this message at the moment i needed to hear it. thank you for sharing it with us. Lord, bless my sister & her son’s foot. in His name & by His mercy. oxo
Oh how I needed that. You just confirmed everything that the Lord was speaking in my spirit this morning. Soooo RICH.
Right on time!!!!!Thank you for your message.I wanted to quit everything today.I was discouraged these days. But God spoke to me through you.You are such a blessing! I’m an overcomer. 😉
I love that God is so awesome! Sometimes I miss listening to the podcast, but just when I REALLY need to hear something He never fails to have me hear just what He needs me to hear from Him…through you.
Thank you for this. I pray that you continue in His service, for His purpose. YOU ARE A GREAT MOM!! 🙂 I’m sure your children agree. 😉
Wow! Thank you so much for this encouragement! As others have stated, it is right on time as God is!
I love the “act as if ” declaration that you made because it fits what, by the Strength and Grace of God, I have been doing.
On September 18, 2016, it was corporately prophesied by my Pastor that ” The Spirit of God warns that Satan is going to attack someone, but that he would not prevail! “.
While I know that we are in a fight “from victory “( I love that!), I was surprised that that same night my husband suffered from a seizure which caused a horrible fall that resulted in him breaking his neck in two places.
Since his fall, he has been paralyzed from the chest down ( I say temporarily because I am believing God for total restoration and deliverance) , his heart has stopped 4xs ( which the cardiologist wanted to put in a pacemaker ). There was also fluid found behind his right lung which they were going to draw out with a needle in his side.
YET I STILL PRAISE GOD OR ACT LIKE HE’S ALREADY DONE WHAT I AM PRAYING FOR! I REFUSE TO STOP PRAISING GOD AND Satan ABSOLUTELY CANNOT HAVE MY FAITH!!!
Since I have been praying and praising Him, there’s no longer a need for the pacemaker as the Lord gave revelation to the pharmacist that it was one of the medicines that was causing his heart to stop.
Also, when the doctors went to place the catheter in his side to draw out the fluid around his lung, they found out that it had resolved itself, so no need for that procedure!
God also blessed him to see his 47th birthday on October 8. Hallelujah!
He’s still in the hospital and actually was transferred to a long term acute care hospital today to begin weaning him off the ventilator, as he now has a trach.
But, I believe that every day he’s going to get better and better!
After all, we have 4 girls to raise ( 2- 18 year olds- we’re a blended family, 1-9 year old and one 10 month old).
We are more than conquerors and I know that it is only through Him who loves me.
Truly God is proving Himself to be the Lifter of my head.
God is not only healing him, He’s working out some things in me, so I am encouraged.
I apologize for being so long, but the podcast really encouraged me!
I’m glad you were long. Your faith is contagious. Prayed for you today 🙂
Thank you for your prayers!
You encouraged me this morning!! I agree that your faith is contagious. I don’t know you but I cried for you and prayed for you… Your story of faith is amazing! Keep that faith for it will move mountains
Thank you Ms. Alicia for your prayers !
P.s. I also have done like Ms. Clara in “War Room ” and have posted Scripture over his hospital walls reminding Him who God is and that He is in total control of the situation.
And btw, even if God doesn’t totally restore him ( which I believe absolutely that He is ) on this side of Heaven, I know that He will in eternity and for that cause, I will yet bless my God because He always wins and we win because we’re MORE THAN conquerors! So, the Word remains true that satan DID NOT prevail!
Ok, I’m done this time for real! 🙂
I have to say that when I received the email with this podcast the title caught my eye and something said save it… So this morning as I worked around my home I listened to this and saying God was on time with this message is an understatement… I am going through a divorce that hasn’t been pretty, dealing with my children being around the woman who my husband cheated on me with and left me for, while I am in nursing school has been more than overwhelming and more of a fight than I have ever had to endure…BUT GOD…. this message was what my soul and heart yearned to hear… Thank you!!
I’m praying for your little man’s healing as well….
May God continue to bless you and use you!
So glad you were encouraged!
Praying for you Alicia that God gives you strength for what you are going through!
Thanks for another wonderful podcast and for letting the Lord use you in a mighty way.
Hi God bless you! i am encouraged dear keep fight!
Hi Chrystal
Thanks so much for this Podcast. I was so blessed by your Overcomer message! In fact, I’m going back through your podcasts because I’m new to the game. Your words are making such a difference in my life. I really enjoyed Tips for Studying the Bible because this is an area God has been dealing with me on. I’m so excited about listening to all the ones I’ve missed.
