Podcast: Play in new window
Are you extremely busy?
Continuously tired?
Feeling overworked?
Have you ever thought of the way you rest as worship?
Today I’m talking about how our rest is worship to God.
Rest you say? Who has time to be well-rested?
Well I know a thing or two about pushing the limits and about trying to get things done.
But I’m also learning how my choice to slow my pace and pay attention to the level of my dependance on God can be worship. I’m learning how every part of who I am and what I do, including, rest can be worship to God.
Let’s Talk!
After you’ve listened to the podcast, I’d love to continue the conversation. Be sure and leave a comment or ask a question!
- What makes taking time to rest (or taking too much time to rest) challenging for you?
- What should worshipping God with your rest look like in your current season of life?
- Have a question you’d like for me to answer on a future podcast? Share your question with me HERE.

Can I ask you a favor? However you found me, will you be so kind as to leave a rating on iTunes and/or write a 2-3 sentence review there or on Stitcher? Your commentary or rating helps make the podcast more “findable” by others who might not know it exists! Thanks in advance for your help!
Wow!!! This has been in my spirit for days. Thank you for allowing God to use you to confirm what He tells me. This has been a blessing. I just love you!!!!
Hi Chrystal! I think there are multiple ways to rest. Yes, resting at night – sleep – is essential. Rest is also sitting quietly in God’s presence. Rest is also saying no to something that will overload your schedule that will keep you ineffective. Rest is also only doing one Bible Study instead of the five that I keep trying to keep up with! Does that make sense? Thanks for the convo. You are so appreciated.

What she said! 🙂
…(smiling)… Thank you so much for airing that again. You showed so much in so little time. Long story short, I’m reminded of an OSHA safety sign at a loading dock in Nashville from years ago, “REMEMBER. PRIORITIES CHANGE. VALUES DON’T.” All right. Hebrews 4:9-11. Blessings…
Hello Chrystal!
I want to thank you for your amazing encouragement that you give in your podcasts. You do a beautiful job in bringing issues that are at the forefront of our concern that offer insight to help us gravitate toward a more spiritual but simplistic approach. Thank you for unifying the family of God with exciting and interesting ways to enhance our walk with the Lord.
I wanted to add in reference to your #61 Podcast “Rest is Worship”, that before I listened to this particular podcast, I tried using the sleeping eye mask to help me, and it worked great! You can find them at Ross, TJMaxx, Marshalls or stores that sale beauty products. They come in a variety of colors and styles as well. Have a blessed week!
Thanks sharing. I needed this.
Thank you for sharing an awesome word. I, too, have been feeling stretched but God is telling me that in order for me to do the work He has for me, I need to be sound so I can be fruitful. It is after I listened to your podcast that I realized that sound not only means full of knowledge and wisdom, but restful so that I can present my body to Him and so that He can use me the way He wants. Thank you Chrystal for putting this so nicely for me and for others so that we really understand and know that God cares what we go through and knows what we are going through. That’s why He requires us to rest. We can cast all of our cares, worldly, internally, externally, on Him. But He understands and He knows. Thank you.
Wow this was powerful! i felt like you were speaking to me! Thank you for this wonderful message I always saw rest as something people did when they were lazy, wow this really changed my views! Looking forward to implementing some of your suggestions. May God continue to bless your ministry.
Motivating. Thank you!

I certainly enjoyed the uplifting message on rest. I work hard on my job, I’m the praise team director, and youth leader at my local Church ,but I never looked at resting as a blessing.
Thank you!
Michelle
This was really really needed for me. Thanks so much.
