How do you overcome a setback?

What do you do when you’ve fallen and you can’t get up?

In today’s podcast, I talk again about my trip over the Golden Gate Bridge and a few lessons I picked up alone the way.  One of those lessons involves the truth that we all face difficulty and must decide before we are in that situation how we will continue moving forward.

There is always a reason to move forward.

So how do you overcome tough times?

You always do one more thing.

You reach. You crawl. You climb.

You reach for one more rung.

The second and third attempts to cross the Golden Gate Bridge were a hot mess.  For real.  I couldn’t believe that something so effortless in my twenties was causing me such grief.  I don’t know why it surprises us when we run into difficulty.  But it does.  So the question is not whether or not we will run into hard times or experience setbacks but rather what we will choose to do in response to those setbacks.

No matter what goal you attempt to accomplish or dream you are working towards, your victories are won from the small places, with small decisions, and in simple actions.

The question is not whether or not you run into difficulties but what you will choose to do when you encounter them.  Like I said last week, at the end of the day, you do the best you can and then life is gonna do what life is gonna do.  The question is if YOU will counter life’s ebbs and flows by doing what you are gonna do too.
