Almost a year ago, I had a small group of women meeting in my home.
We were doing a six week Bible study and each week the ladies drove on that windy road to get to my place with Bibles and food in hand.
We had a good time studying God’s Word together and eating getting to know one another better.
There were about 8 to 10 of us meeting on any given study night and we sat around on one of my couches or chairs, got comfortable and chatted.
During our time, one of the girls noticed that I was always adjusting and moving our sectional. It is a second hand sofa that was an answer to prayer. I literally asked God to give me a couch like this and not soon after, I saw this couch on the front of neighbor’s lawn for $100. I was grateful for this couch so I didn’t complain.
But the sections would never stay together. The little bolts that were supposed to hook one couch section to another and keep them there weren’t doing their jobs.
The sections of the coach were constantly coming apart.
I was constantly pushing them back together.
When my friend asked me if I’d tried to have the couch fixed, I told her that I had no idea where to go or who to call to deal with such a thing.
She suggested I try velcro.
Industrial velcro.
That was a year ago.
Just last week I realized that my list of random stuff to fix around the house had gotten a little long, so I made the call to our handyman.
Fixing the couch was one of the things on my list for him.
When he arrived and I asked him if he thought he could figure out a solution.
He wasn’t sure that he could.
It was his opinion that I needed to go on a mad hunt for “couch people” who knew how to service couches.
I remembered the velcro idea and decided to try it.
I put it a little here and a little there…
And wouldn’t you know… it worked!
One whole year later, I made the decision to try a super simple solution that a friend gave me long ago.
And I’ve been enjoying such peace not having to constantly push that couch back together.
Sometimes it’s the simple things that we just don’t get around to doing.
And as soon as we do it, we realize that we should have just done it sooner.
We have peace.
What is God asking you to do?
What are you convicted about doing?
What simple instruction, principle, guideline, or action have you made an unnecessary delay in tackling?
Let’s pray about that.
“Let’s ask God for the courage to do what He’s asking us to do – even down to the simplest thing.”
Sometimes, it’s the obedience with the small things in which we can gain the greatest peace.
“If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. Luke 16:10
It’s a beautiful thing to see women praying for each other.
So here we go…
As always, feel free to pray about A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G…
But if you are helped by having a topic to focus on for prayer…
Simple.
Again… feel free to pray about anything that concerns you. But if the topic of “simple” resonates with you, pray in that direction.
So how exactly does this work do you ask? Keep scrolling for the details…
and now for the FUN!…

I am rarely simple, and much of the chaos in my life could probably be drastically reduced by living in a more simple fashion. Pray I would take one step this next week toward simplifying my home and the tasks there that clamor for my attention. Thanks!
You could have taken the words right out of my mouth! Sometimes I feel the chaos surrounding keeps me bogged down and unable to make needed changes in my daily life. I pray that God will give me the endurance to complete this task and help me to have a closer and more personal relationship with him. Amen.
My prayer request is to learn when it is best to yield the “last word” in everyday conversations.
Lord Jesus, I pray for Katheryne. I ask You to give her wisdom and discernment in each and every conversation she has opportunity to join. I pray she would be prompted to listen rather than to speak and to recognize when it is best to keep silent instead of filling that silence with extraneous words that can detract from the richness of the interaction between her and those close to her. I pray your Spirit would remind her and prompt her that she will have many opportunities to keep silent and only to proceed with that “last word” when she feels you guiding and directing her to do so. Inspire Katheryne with your wisdom and your truth that her words would be a sweet balm on the ears of her listeners. Wrap her in your care as she seeks to do your will through her interactions with others. Bless her for her desire for obedience in this area and give her a recognition that she is achieving what you have for her in the obedience she exercises. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen
Thank you Pam
Abba Father, thank You for my sister Pam and her presence hear today. I see or read her prayer request and can’t help but think that You, in Your greatness and vast complexity, have found a way to make it, this world and everything in it, work like clockwork. With everything that is involved in the universe, it all seems to work perfectly. The days and hours and minutes, are always the same. And yet, they are all different and bring different seasons and weather patterns and scenarios. You are the Author of life. You know how it all works best. Pam is Your daughter. She needs and wants to be like You in the many moving parts of her life. Please show her how to order her life in such a way that it works like clockwork. Reveal to her what she cannot see right now and that she needs to see to simplify her home and the tasks there. Focus her attention on Your priorities for her life. Holy Spirit, give her the words from Jesus that will lead her to this. We love You. Thank You for Your goodness to us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Thank you, Katheryne, for your heartfelt prayers on my behalf. This precious place of prayer is a treasure to my heart every week. For those of you who are repeat visitors, please continue to pray for my marriage and family. I fluctuate regularly between wanting to stay and make this 20-year marriage endure and succeed for the long haul and wanting to flee to a better, safer place for me and my children. The past couple of days have felt very hopeless and wearisome. Thank you for lifting us up and standing in the gap when I haven’t the strength to fight on my own.
Father, today I pray for a family in my community. They lost their 17 year old son this week. It has floored our entire community with complete heartbreak. We do not ever know your plans for each of us, but we know you work it all together for good. Please cover them with your comfort and peace at this time in their lives. Give them hope and strength and your unfailing love. In your name we pray, Amen.
Father we lift up to you Christi community right now. They are dealing with a terrible tragedy and while at the time we never understand why these things happen we know you always have a plan and its a good one. I know that’s not what those parents want to hear right now, they want their son back, but father I pray in those dark days that are to come that you would comfort them in their sorrow and remind them they have not been abandoned and you still have your loving arms wrapped tightly around them. Father I pray for those in the community who may want to help but just don’t know how to – please speak to their hearts and guide them to areas of need that they could fulfill. Please comfort all who are affected by this tragedy as they heal in the coming months. Amen
My prayer request is for God’s strength, comfort, peace, and resilience to get through the lesson that He is trying to teach me. My lesson is on how to step out on Faith with EVERY step I take, to trust Him with EVERYTHING, and not be self-sufficient, but God-sufficient at all times. Whew!
Lord I come to You asking that you strengthen Christine in her faith. Lord help her to know with her heart that You are faithful and will never leave nor forsake Your children. Lord help her to be God-sufficient and that You are working it all out even when she can’t see it Lord. Lord you have proven it time and time again to me and for that I say Thank You and I am thanking You for what you are gonna do in Christine’s life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen
Father God, I just pray a spirit of oneness with you for Kathryne even right now!! Touch her lips with the power of Your wisdom to know when to continue talking or when to put it into your hands and keep quiet. In Your Son Jesus Christ’s name I claim the victory for Kathryne. Amen.
Thank you Christine
Lord God, Maker of Heaven and Earth, there is no other place like in Your presence. We come, longing for more of You. It is in Your presence that we find all that we need. You taught us to come to You as children. In the simplicity of a childlike faith, You promised to meet us. Tonight, we worship You for You are our Father in Heaven. We love You. We wait on You. You are faithful, God. You are faithful to keep Your promises. You love us so well. And we thank You. Glory to Your Holy Name. After a week of Your faithfulness, we are in awe. I am in awe of You, my Lord. Thank You for Jesus. Thank You. In His precious Name I pray. Amen.
Dear Father,
I pray for your precious daughter Katheryne. Your Word teaches us how important it is to be wise with our words. I pray that this week you would give Katheryne wisdom to know when to speak and when it is best to be silent. Help her focus on it this week and depend on you in prayer at all times. It is obvious that she desires to bring you glory and will give you all the praise for victory in this matter. Thank you for her and the love you have for her. Amen.
II keep things to myself more than I should. Please pray that I would overcome whatever fear is holding back and focus on being more open and honest. Thank you!
Thank you “K”arla
Lord I thank You for always working things out even when don’t see it. Lord You have been so great to me and my family and I just want to thank You. Lord I thank You for my husband, my kids, my both sets of parents, my sisters and brothers biological and by marriage. Lord, I thank You for Your grace and mercy. Lord you have been so God. You are working everyday in the life of my family. I pray that as we receive what you bless is with that we can return it all back to You to glor your kingdom. THANK YOU
I am heading to South Africa on a mission trip . Pray for hearts to be open to JESUS
Father we pray for Regina today as she gets ready to embark on her trip to South Africa. Father I pray that you would put your protective hand over her during her journey and her time there. Please let her arrive refreshed and on fire for you. I pray that hearts will be receptive to hearing the gospel and lives would be changed because of Jesus. Please allow your Holy Spirit to prompt Regina to say what she needs to say and at the right time so that you are able to meet the people right where they are at. Father we pray when Regina leaves she will be leaving a community behind full of life and passion for following You. Father I also pray that you would speak to Regina through this trip and you would bless her in areas she may need your voice in. Bless her for being obedient and taking your word to South Africa and saving souls for the Kingdom. This we ask in Jesus name. Amen
LORD, I stand in prayer for Regina, today. I thank You for going before her to prepare the people of South Africa to receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I thank you for provision and protection for her and her team. We give glory to the One Who is able to do exceeding abundantly above that Regina can ask, think, dream, or imagine. We ask and receive it in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
Regina, it was my pleasure to pray for you, today. BLESSINGS on your mission trip to South Africa!
I asking for the grace, courage, focus, wisdom and obedience to write the books that the LORD has put on my heart to write. To be able to guard against the distractions of things that “seem” more urgent. Thank you for your prayers.
God,
What a great gift you have given Vikki to feel called to write for you. Give her words that she can’t wait to write. Help her find the time, focus, and willingness to set aside time for this special mission. Help her make this a priority when life seems too busy. Keep her mind set on the good work you have given her to do, so that you can make it grow and use her gifts to serve others. Amen.
I have been convicted lately about getting up even earlier in the morning to extend my quiet time with God but I am not a morning person! The thought of getting up at 5:30 am is not my idea of fun but yet I need to be obedient because God has a reason for asking me to do it. I know I am in a season of major transition within my life for what I do not know. God only gives you a few steps at a time and he has asked me to make major changes about things in my life and this is one of them. Last week was my first week of doing it and I only managed 2 mornings out of 5 so please pray that next week I break the habit and get up at 5:30. I don’t want to miss what God has in store for me within that extra hour because of laziness. Thank you for praying.
Father,
Thank you that you are pushing and challenging Heather to wake up earlier so that you can speak to her. Help Heather be motivated and excited to meet with you. She wants to hear your words, but it is hard to wake up earlier and start a new habit. Give her a supernatural excitement this week that wakes her up and makes her eager to take this time you want her to have. Thank that you are desiring that she would come before your throne, that you love her so much that you want more of her. Thank you for what you will do in Heather’s life through this new discipline and sacrifice. Amen.
My prayer is that I will be more supportive of my husband even in the “small stuff”.
Prayer for clarity and direction to do the simple things that have stomped me for years that I believe God wants me to do that will bring the breakthroughs I so desperately need in my chaotic life, failing marriage and family crisis’
Father, I thank You for Kim! She is precious to You. Lord, please send your Holy Spirit to fill Kim with your guidance and discernment, that she will know which path to take. Give her the certainty that no matter what, You will be with her. Give her peace and give her rest. Amen.
My prayer is that I will follow Him closer every day. More of Him and less of me in my conversations, my responses, my thoughts.
Lord I pray that Jane would sense you calling her to follow you more and more. I pray that you could completely eclipse her speech, actions, and thoughts as you shadow her with your lovingkindness.
Lord thank you for each and every prayer offered up this weekend. We know you hear. We believe you care. Thank you for your love and your faithful provision in our lives. Help us to trust your heart when we can’t see your hand. And help us to do the simple things consistently that will keep us in close proximity to you. We love you. Amen.
