Welcome back to Faith and Fun Friday!

This week has been… ummm… interesting to say the least.

My birthday was Monday. I was sick as a dog.

I was scheduled to speak the next day so I thought it best to stay home, rest up, and take it easy.

It was one of those “quick bugs” and I was feeling better Tuesday. All went well for the talk, but I’ve found that the same “rest-up-and-take-it-easy” frame of mind has not left me at all.

I’ve been taking it easy all week.

Right this second, I’m looking at two baskets of clothes sitting on my couch.  They are both full of clean clothes.  My boys have become quite adept at grabbing what they need out of them because their mother won’t put them away.

We have also eaten out three times this week.

Travesty.

My husband hasn’t known whether to scold me for us spending more than we planned or cheer me because he enjoys eating out.

My hair is currently in plats.

Wigs make things super simple.

I digress.

This week has been a week of RELEASE.

I don’t think I want to use the word lazy because it’s not like I didn’t do anything.

I just purposely did less.

Sometimes life is like that.

You just have to let things go.

You need time and space to rest your mind, body, and your soul.

And that’s OK.

While we do need to know and recognize the difference between rest and the reckless kind of lazy, I think in our world we tend much more towards the rat race than we do towards rejuvenation.

What do you need to release today?

Where do you need to give yourself a pass, let something go, let someone go?

Let’s pray about it.

What are you holding on to so tightly that you can’t breathe.  Is it anger. Is it control. Is it possessions.

There is freedom in letting go.

Corrie Ten Boom said…

Prayer works people.

And sometimes we need to stop to pray and ask God to help us… but especially to receive His help in letting some things go.

Hold on to Him.  Let the rest go.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV

It’s a beautiful thing to see women praying for each other.

So here we go…

Just like last week, feel free to pray about A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G

But if you are helped by having a topic to  focus on for prayer…

Release.

Again… feel free to pray about anything that concerns you.  But if the topic of “release” resonates with you, pray in that direction.

So how exactly does this work do you ask?

If you are new to our prayer on Fridays or need a little refresher here are the details…

1) Post YOUR prayer.
First, scroll to the end of the post to find the section for comments.  Keep scrolling to the end of the comments to find the empty box where you can leave your prayer request. Click “Post Comment”.

2) Pray for someone else.
Then, look above you in the comment thread for the person who posted just before of you.  Hit “reply” and pray for them.  That way we make sure that everyone gets covered!

Please don’t feel insecure about your ability to pray for another sister or feel that her request is above your spiritual “pay grade.” Just pray with your heart.  God hears. He works with the words that we have and then He takes care of the rest.

3) Post your pic!
Make sure we can “see” you! Go to Gravatar.com so that others can see your face in the comments! (It’s easy! Just click on the green button labeled “Get your gravatar today” )

4) Pray more
Once you have left your prayer request and prayed for the person above you, if you have a few minutes feel free to reply and pray for any other comment/prayer you see in the thread.

And now for the FUN!…

Your comment/prayer will enter you to win a Kingdom Woman Tumbler!

Last week’s winner is PAM! (I’ll be sending you an email soon).

As usual, I’ll select a winner at random. Simply leave your comment and/or prayer anytime between Friday and Sunday at midnight.  I’ll announce the winner on next week!
