Yesterday I lost my keys.

It was a bad, bad thing because I also had a flight to catch.

There’s an illustration in there somewhere.

I’ll probably write another blog post about this another day – drawing out the deep spiritual principle.

(Because there IS a deep spiritual principal here… I’m sure of it).

But for today, just know that I lost my keys and I was completely thrown and caught off guard.

Yesterday, I drove to the seminary for chapel and for class.  I was running a little bit late.

I’m always running a little bit late so ya’ll pray for me.

After class, I had a few minutes to kill and I’m behind in my reading so I decided to stop by the coffee shop to take a deep breath, swallow a little bit of heavenly hot sweetness, then get on my way.

When I finished reading, I gathered my things and looked for my keys.

None to be found.

Enter small panic.

Have you ever lost your keys?

Why is it that we don’t really lose them until we have somewhere to go and we are already running late?

Keys are important.

Without them, I’m grounded.

I can’t go anywhere.

I can’t get to my next assignment.

I can’t get from my where I am to the place I want or need to get to.

Keys are important.

Lost.001

Life can be like that.

Sometimes we lose something that keeps us from moving forward.

Maybe it’s our self-esteem.

Maybe it’s a person.

Maybe it’s our will to press on.

Sometimes we lose something as we live our life and we are grounded until we can get our act together and find it.

I’m glad to report that I did find my keys eventually and that I did make my flight (barely, but that’s another story).

But I prayed over finding those keys.

I didn’t want to miss my flight.

I didn’t want to waste any more time than necessary looking for them.

I wanted to get on my way.

Are you lost?

Have you lost something or someone and because of that, you are grounded?

Something lost can be devastating, back-breaking, life-altering.

Lost.

Everyone I know has lost or misplaced their keys at least once in their life.

Most everyone I know has either felt lost or felt as if they had lost something important in their life too.

It’s OK to admit it.

It’s OK to pray about it.

So let’s pray.

For ourselves.

For each other.

For what we’ve lost.

For what is lost.

For who is lost.

We serve a God who sits on high and sees all.

He knows what we’ve lost and can help us to find it.

“I will seek the lost, bring back the scattered, bind up the broken and strengthen the sick…” Ezekiel 34:16

We just have to ask.

“For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10 (NASB)

It’s a beautiful thing to see women praying for each other.

So here we go…

As always, feel free to pray about A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G

But if you are helped by having a topic to focus on for prayer…

Lost.

Again… feel free to pray about anything that concerns you.

But if today’s prayer focus resonates with you, pray in that direction.

So how exactly does this work do you ask? Keep scrolling for the details…

So excited about prayer this weekend!

Help spread the word!

If you are new to our prayer on Fridays or need a little refresher here are the details…

1) Post YOUR prayer.
First, scroll to the end of the post to find the section for comments.  Keep scrolling to the end of the comments to find the empty box where you can leave your prayer request. Click “Post Comment”.

2) Pray for someone else.
Then, look above you in the comment thread for the person who posted just before of you.  Hit “reply” and pray for them.  That way we make sure that everyone gets covered!

Please don’t feel insecure about your ability to pray for another sister or feel that her request is above your spiritual “pay grade.” Just pray with your heart.  God hears. He works with the words that we have and then He takes care of the rest.

3) Post your pic!
Make sure we can “see” you! Go to Gravatar.com so that others can see your face in the comments! (It’s easy! Just click on the green button labeled “Get your gravatar today” )

4) Pray more
Once you have left your prayer request and prayed for the person above you, if you have a few minutes feel free to reply and pray for any other comment/prayer you see in the thread.
