If God allowed catastrophe to strike in your life, would you continue to love and serve Him? Do you desperately need to know that God will do something great with your grief? Do you need clarity as to why God allows suffering? Do you need freedom from the grief brought on by your pain?

In this podcast, Katherine Wolf shares her journey through a life-altering brain injury that has led her to a beautiful and deep relationship with God. She tells the honest truth about despair but also declares her hope in Christ’s plan for her life.

When you picture yourself in your mid-20s, health and happiness would likely be two themes that would surface.  The thought of traumatic illness and depression would likely be far from your imagination. This is what Katherine Wolf abruptly faced over 10 years ago.

This chat is about suffering that creates a life giving change in perspective. Even after suffering a stroke as a young woman, Katherine has learned that while life as she knew it is forever changed, her new life can be even more beautiful. Katherine’s suffering has given her a  pivotal perspective that has defined her walk of faith. She vividly describes her 10 year journey that has allowed her to experience God in a rich and unique way. She is in awe and appreciation of what God has done in her life, despite her suffering. Being able to sympathize with people who have also experienced great suffering has allowed her to be an inspiring witness and encourager.

Katherine talks about her relationship with her husband, Jay, and how, he too, has been strengthened by what many thought would end their marriage. They share much of this story in a book they co-authored entitled Hope Heals.

Katherine’s spirit of resiliency and restoration is refreshing. Her ability to have authentic joy in the midst of major disability is a testament of God’s sustaining grace. On today’s podcast, Katherine shares the truth of God that overflows from her heart that will speak to the deep issues of suffering, grief, and love of God. Katherine has learned to  “embrace her assignment” and be intentionally content by “loving what remains”.
