Podcast: Play in new window
The thoughts that dance around in your head matter.
And while most of us know this, I wonder how many of us actively and regularly pay attention to our thoughts and put in the effort to make sure we are thinking correctly?
I know I struggle to do it. Because it’s work.
Paying attention to my thoughts and then working to think correct thoughts takes effort.
On today’s podcast, I talk about the three E’s of coaching your head – encouragement, examination, and exposure.
None of us should feel bad if we struggle with our thoughts. Everyone I know needs encouragement to think correctly about themselves, others, and how to perceive the lives we live. We can coach our thoughts or our “head” by examining our thoughts in the light of God’s Word and the light of what’s true. Then, by choosing to regularly expose our minds to truth, we can transform the way we think.
Now don’t be misled to think that coaching your head is easy. It’s not always. It takes practice. But it is the most important thing that you can learn to do. Proverbs 23:7 tells us that it’s our thoughts that determine who we are. If you want to live your life well and be the best you that you can be, you must also vigilantly pay attention to the thoughts that are in your mind.
Never forget that while God has given you life, you have the power to activate that life with the choices you make each and every day.
Choose to coach your head by coaching yourself in how you think.
We all need an encouraging nudge in the direction of right thoughts. Choose to examine your thoughts regularly and expose yourself to right thinking.

This has been a true blessing to me. Thank you so much for your obedience to Christ. I started a fast today. I like to ask The Holy Spirit what He would like for me to give up. He told me myself and my words. This blessed my spirit so much.

Thank you thank you thank you a million times over!!!
So glad this podcast is helpful!
I just found your podcast today… and I thank God for placing you in my life already. I am at a very stressful time in my life. I am a wife, mother of two, sister, and daughter. I need to be healthy again with having positive thoughts with everything that comes my way. I have cried all day/night and I went to God in prayer on my knees. God has pulled me through and showed me what he can do overnight. He cleaned my heart….he took out dislike and hate and immediately made room for love. I’m honestly putting all my trust in Him more than I have ever before. This is because my situations have changed. He’s the only one that can help me through. Thank you for doing your podcasts. You definitely have my ear from here on out. Thank you.
This was SO GOOD!!! I was listening while I was working. I will listen to it again and take notes. Thanks so much for your teachings and transparency. What a blessing you are.

Chrystal,
Wow you have been such a blessing to me. I am a former member of OCBF (moved out of Texas) – have followed your dad for many years, Priscilla and now you. I read Kingdom Woman and the 1st chapter of She’s Still There. Waiting on the arrival of my book from TUA. So I have been following Proverbs31 and Over a series of Cllicks landed on your podcast. Loving it- you are so beautiful- you look so much like your mom. I love your spirit to deal with the common ordinary folks like me. Real talk – meeting us right where we are – Just received access to the freebies and can’t wait to listen the playlist you released. All over the place just excited.
Glad you found me!
Chrystal, I Really enjoyed this podcast that appeared in my email. I have been battling racing thoughts most of my life. It restricts my productivity. Have received professional help. Love the three E’s. Makes good sense. I journal often … Need to do so daily. And will practice your suggestion of reviewing the journal and notes daily. Loved the scripture references also.
Thank you, Chrystal, for your time and your challenges … They are not in vain.
