Podcast: Play in new window
I have a very special guest today. She aims to encourage women 365 days a year, has been in the broadcasting industry for over 40 years, regularly host web events, has a heart for pastor’s wives and I’m glad to call her mom! My mother, Lois Evans, is encouraging us to live on purpose during every season of life.
Whether we are in a busy season, coming out of a busy season or going into a busy season we must learn to find space. My mom shares practical examples of what space has looked like through various seasons of her life. We also chat about working through change, doing ministry inside and outside of your home, the importance of sitting down at the table, menopause, and what it means to take time to grieve.
I’m grateful to have had the opportunity watch my mom live life up close. She is a lady of grace and has given me and many other women a wonderful example to follow.
Today’s podcast is dripping with wisdom. So glad to share my mom with with you today!

This podcast was very encouraging. I’ve been listening for some time now, but this one really resonated with me. The Lord has been speaking to my heart about embracing each season of my life with a heart of gratitude and contentment. Your mother shared so much wisdom. I loved the part when she said we’re overcomers and we need to walk with overcomers, we don’t need to walk with people who have not overcome. I’m just gone sit right here and let that marinate… This past Sunday I launched my blog and the heart of it is to encourage women through each season of their lives. My heart is encouraged and I’m grateful for your ministry.
Sincere blessings
I love the book That your mom wrote. I have shrared it with all of my friends and they are all blessed by it. Thank you so much for this little time I get to sit with my cup of coffee and note pad to glean from Lois Evans. What a divine appointment.
Thanks so much for sharing your mommy Chrystal! I am a young (new) pastor’s wife and have had on my heart that I needed some mentorship, some pouring in from someone well seasoned, lol. This podcast was right on time! I listen to all of your podcasts and glean alot but this one was like just sitting at her feet and soaking it all in. I’ve already listened 3 times and will probably listen again. I, like you, do not like the holiday season because it just adds to my list. But I will be intentional this month about making some traditions for my kids and not let everything else overwhelm me. My season doesn’t have to be large and grandeur, it can be small and have just as much impact. And yep, my bathroom is my solace! Thanks again, God bless!
I loved, loved, loved this podcast. Thanks Chrystal to you and your wonderful mommy! There were many nuggets in this podcast that I will use for myself as well as pass on to other sisters who need to be encouraged. My husband and I are now in our season of empty nest, and just starting to enjoy the benefits of that. Making space is something I have had to learn to do for myself, and getting better at it with time 🙂
Keep doing what you do.
Thank you so much for sharing this. As I began a new year this is such encouragement and a great reminder.. Praying for you and your family.???
