How do you maintain an attitude of gratitude?
In today’s podcast I chat with a very special guest; my brother Anthony Evans Jr.! We’re talking about a variety of things, one of those things being maintaining an attitude of gratitude.
In this podcast, Anthony also shares with us insight on focus, why it is important to be willing to take the next step, what following after his dreams looks like and much more.
Anthony talks about the difficulties of remaining focused, especially in a culture where we want things to happen immediately and he gives small adjustments that can be made to maintain focus. By sharing examples from his life, Anthony shows us why what we may consider to be failure or a delay may actually be a time of preparation for the opportunities that we will receive in the future.
I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to sit down and chat with my brother. His insight was helpful and encouraging to me personally and I believe it will be for you too!

Good Morning Chrystal, I enjoy your pod cast thank you for sharing. 🙂
Very nice. Thank you both. I must say that it’s getting easier to see why your father refers to Psalm 133 so much…because it’s a real-life event. Also, my memories were forced to the surface once again. Focus, gratitude, privilege…
I really appreciate the help. Thank you both…
Omg. Maintaining focus after 3-5 months is tough for me. I have the focus initially and then I lose interest in the doing…but still like the idea.. but work tires me from my projects and I don’t do well with long projects again I lose interest.
I like the focus on “what’s next” and “what’s right in front of me” position.
Also what do you do when your dream changes and is no longer your dream and you don’t know what your dream is or the next thing…??
I have been stuck on two book concepts. I’ve never written but they continue to tug at me and so this podcast is sooo encouraging and I’m usually the one doing the encouraging. One of the books chronicles my Path to Peace and I really like what AE said about backing out of things b/c that’s exactly what I had to do and while I have described it his illustration is point on and I’ll probably use it and of course and give him credit b/c it’s like a page out of my path so thank you
I really enjoyed the podcast. Such a light conversation filled with lots of helpful little nuggets.
Listening to the podcast encouraged me to be okay with backing out of unhealthy situations.
Growing up as a Preacher’s Kid I was always told to not worry about things and it would be okay. So I began to live a very laxed and passive life.
I failed to exercise wisdom and discernment. For years I surrounded myself with people who were only there to take and not add to my life.
In 2014 the Holy Spirit began to speak to me about my life and those around me. I found myself faced with having to make a decision to stay in an unhealthy marriage or divorce.
I prayed and fasted several times only to hear God say the same thing “Either you can divorce him now or divorce him later but either way you are going to divorce him.”
Of course this was not the answer I was expecting to hear. As a PK I was taught that divorce is not an option, you hang in there no matter what.
Faced with the fear of what others would think and the change in my finances, I found myself afraid to back out of the situation as Anthony said.
Faced with following the voice of the Lord or being concerned with the perception of others was a no brainer for me.
As a result of following the voice of the Lord I have gained so much peace and clarity.
We don’t always understand why God allows situations but we can always trust that He will make good use of them.
Thanks again for sharing. Be blessed!
I enjoyed listening to that! Good stuff. I was reminded to be grateful for everything I do have. In our quest for more, many times we forget that we’re not where we used to be and have so much to be grateful for. Thanks for sharing. You guys have such a cute and admirable relationship.
So I happened upon this “jewel” today! Truly I was trying to pull up some of Anthony’s music to listen to and was blessed to see this. Please tell Anthony i would gladly be his ghostwriter? Lol. God bless you both
