How was your weekend?

Mine was wonderful.

My daughter got married.

It’s official. I’m a mother-in-law (or mother-in-love as I prefer to say).

Don’t be surprised over the next days, weeks, and months if I use that as some kind of illustration.

It’s simply unbelievable that my baby girl is a married woman.

It’s simply unbelievable that I’m old enough for any of this!

Cause actually I’m not.

I still have five year olds running around in my house.

And so does my friend Elizabeth Foss.

Today, I’d love to introduce you to my new friend.

We were introduced this summer by a mutual friend and have been texting to get to know each other ever since.

Sallys Intensive

She has nine children.  I have five.  Who has time to talk on the phone! But, I’ll let her tell you how we met.

Because we’ve never had the chance to chat on the phone for any length of time, we did a good job of it this time!  We had to break our chat together into two parts.

Get to know Elizabeth today then tune in later this week as we chat about practical tips for the heart and home.

But first…

(drumroll please)

Here is this weeks’s #MilesforMercy report.

Today’s Monday… Mercy Marathon Monday.

Every time I go for a run, I’m going to put $1 per mile in a jar.

Every Monday, I’m going to announce here on the blog my total mileage for the previous week.

Every Monday, I’m going to go online to MercyHouseKenya.org and donate those dollars.

Every Monday I’d love for you to join me.

Every Monday, in addition to a new podcast, I will let you know how many#milesformercy I’ve run the week before to train for my marathon in December and therefore how many dollars I’ll be donating to the Mercy House – a home for young mothers in Kenya.

If you haven’t read about The Mercy Marathon, please do.

I want as many people as possible to know about this wonderful organization and as many people as possible to participate in this opportunity to bless young girls on the other side of the world.

If you have no idea what I’m talking about… click on the links below to find out more about The Mercy Marathon journey:

Are you following me on Instagram? I’m chronicling my marathon journey there as well as on Facebook and Twitter, but I post more pics on IG of course.  You can always keep up by searching for the hashtag #MilesforMercy. Thanks for following along on the blog and on social media as I chronicle my journey to running for me.

But I hope even more that you would choose to join me in my quest of running for others.

Every Monday I’d love for you to join me on the journey…
