Podcast: Play in new window
My Monday is a bit of a mess.
There is a podcast and I’ll get to that in just a minute.
Oh! And there are some FREEBIES, but I’ll get to that in a minute too.
But my blog post today is going to be a bit of miscellany because miscellany is exactly what is happening in my head right now!
So forgive me in advance for being a little all over the place.
First of all…
(drumroll please)
I’m so excited to share my first #MilesforMercy report.
Every Monday, in addition to a new podcast, I will let you know how many miles I’ve run the week before and therefore how many dollars I’ll be donating to the Mercy House.
On August 10th, I decided that from that run forward, every run up to and including my December marathon would count for something more than me.
Since I would be running so many miles, I decided they would all be #milesformercy. Every Monday, I’ll be donating $1 for every mile run to the Mercy House – a home for young mothers in Kenya.
Mileage since 8/10?
77.07 miles
WHOOOOOOP!
(Kind of cool since my birthday is 07/07)
Here’s the record of my mileage:
Are you following me on Instagram? I’m chronicling my marathon journey there as well as on Facebook and Twitter, but I post more pics on IG of course. You can always keep up by searching for the hashtag #MilesforMercy.
Going forward the mileage will be reported on a weekly basis so it won’t be as high. This is my first report so I’m including all of the miles run since August 10th. Isn’t it fantastic?
If you haven’t read about The Mercy Marathon, please do.
I want as many people as possible to know about this wonderful organization and as many people as possible to participate in this opportunity to bless young girls on the other side of the world.

But I hope even more that you would choose to join me in my quest of running for others.
Every Monday I’d love for you to join me on the journey…

So like I was saying…
My Monday is a bit of a mess.
Just got back in town.
No water at my house.
Yes. You read that correctly.
NO WATER.
My week is going to be one hectic situation.
It’s wedding week ya’ll.
And I still don’t have the shoes for my mother-in-love dress.
There is at least one thing that I can do to make the week a little bit less stressful.
I’m making a meal plan.
Today’s podcast is a bit of me rambling about my day, my week, and how making a meal plan will help a sista-out.

This series has encouraged me to take a step towards running. I played softball in school and college and now many years later I have SVT and I am diabetic…..My children are half at home and half at home. I have been silently suffereing with depression while trying to keep it all together for evryone else. As I listen to the podcast, I have listened between the lines of why you began to run. I have read te scriptures you refer back too. I have listened multiple times to several of the podcasts and found encouragement. Having 5 children life isnt quiet even wen theyare adults but I had shutout the most important thing…listening to God….so saturday I laced up my sneakers and went to te local middle school that has a track and just started walking…ot up to running yet but I walked and talked to God…it was so freeing. I was able to clear my thoughts and just breathe……BREATHE…thank you for yor funny, loving, transparent, planned and unplanned rambling, that you call it….its s refreshing ad I feel empowered and not condemned…..Keep doing what you are doing…..it breathes life into real women, real moms
Hi Chrystal,
First, I love your blog/podcasts. I really look forward to the new podcast each Monday.:-)
You are right on with this podcast. Lately, I’ve been meal planning/prepping and it so helpful (even for me as a single woman with no husband or children). I do exactly what you suggested. I write out my meals for the week (which may include a frozen dinner or a meal to eat out) then make a grocery list based on my plan. I cook my meals (3-4 meals divided into 2 or 3 portions for each meal) all on one day. I used to do it Sunday after church but this past week, I meal prepped on Saturday. It can be tiring to do it all at once but it does take the guess work out of figuring out what to eat during the week. I find that if I don’t do this, I tend to eat out way too much.
Thanks for another great podcast! Have a blessed day!
chrystal, thank you for taking the time out of your own challenges to share this podcast with us. I pray that you and Jes and the kids will have a good week as the final preparations for the wedding takes places. Girl get a few killer heels and do not forget to share it with us.
Take a moment to breath…….
Love you girl and thank you once again for being this awesome sista in this season of my life
Hi Sis! I totally understand the Monday mess. Thanks for the reminder and sharing about meal planning. It’s fun sharing these tips with my daughter now that she’s also a wife and mom. Still hard to believe! Praying for a wonderfully blessed week and congrats again on Kariss’ upcoming marriage. She’s gonna be a beautiful bride. Can’t wait to see! It seems like only yesterday when we watched you and Jesse exchange vows. My how time flies!
